Patrick Harboun and his son are no strangers to pushing LEGO's creative boundaries. After winning the grand prize of a worldwide competition in 2020 with their meticulously designed Daft Punk LEGO recreation, they now have their sights set on getting it officially released.
And they need the support of the robots' fans and LEGO enthusiasts alike to make it happen.
Patrick Harboun
The father-son duo's original entry was built during the height of the pandemic lockdown, a time when many turned to creative outlets for solace. Sharing their mutual love for Daft Punk's timeless music, they crafted a stunning replica of the duo's iconic pyramid stage from their "Alive 2007" tour.
Despite winning first place, the stunning set never saw commercial production. However, the Harbouns are going for greatness one more time after becoming re-inspired by Daft Punk's cameo in Pharrell's upcoming LEGO animation film Piece By Piece, Patrick tells EDM.com.
Patrick Harboun
Their new design is live on the LEGO Ideas platform, where projects can garner fan votes for a chance to become official sets. If successful by voter demand, it will celebrate Daft Punk's enduring legacy in both music and pop culture.
The father-son team is hoping that Daft Punk devotees and LEGO lovers will come together to cast their votes and turn this dream into a reality. You can show your support by voting for the project here.

In just a few years, Kasablanca have proven they have a lot to say—and they’re not done yet.
The duo's debut album, Higher Resolution, to be released in two parts, is an intimate and deeply layered expression of their journey, both personal and musical. After a few years of explosive success, the duo is still maintaining their place as one of electronic music’s most compelling acts of the moment.
The album is an exploration of resilience, personal battles, rebirth and the drive to keep moving forward. Its titular track is a rhythmic tone-setter with vocoder-laced lyrics cutting through the atmosphere, as if echoing from a distant future.
Much of the album's first chapter similarly delivers a sense of euphoria that feels almost cinematic in scale, like "Remission," their triumphant collaboration with Lane 8. Released just days before Micky of Kasablanca was declared cancer-free, the song feels prophetic, as if it were always meant to accompany the moment when hope turned into reality.
"Terminal Feeling" delves into the more introspective side of their story. Paired with ethereal, almost ghostly vocals, its haunting techno rhythms give the track an air of tension—an audible reflection of the fear and uncertainty that comes with battling illness. Yet, even in its darker moments, there’s a glimmer of defiance as the duo turns personal adversity into cathartic release. The result is a hypnotic dancefloor anthem brimming with raw, unfiltered energy.
Elsewhere, tracks like "Dawn" see Kasablanca offering new stylistic production choices with frenetic percussion while crooning vocals soar through the mix, steeped in reverb. The blend of breakbeat rhythms and futuristic soundscapes captures a feeling of nostalgia and forward motion all at once, marking another standout moment on the album.
A debut album release is always a milestone in an artist's career, but Higher Resolution (Side A) is a decisive reflection of their growth and evolution as artists and as people thus far. You can listen to the album below and catch Kasablanca on tour now.

Who knew DJ Snake had a dark side?
Last month, Excision gathered some of the biggest names in dubstep and bass music for the dazzling 2024 edition of Lost Lands. While its lineups have evolved each year, last month's festival featured the most musically diverse lineup in its history, offering fans many more options outside the bass umbrella.
Before the French superstar took the stage, he teased a new alias set to perform amongst the dinosaurs, The OUTLAW. The posts were cryptic, but he said that Excision had told him to go as hard as he wanted with no rules. The result was a stunning performance filled with ruthless dubstep, dark techno and even some surprising tearout that left attendees buzzing all weekend.
For those who couldn't witness The OUTLAW's debut in person, Snake has shared the full hourlong performance on his SoundCloud. Fans can hear every bit of the set from the intro to the finale as Snake proved why an EDM headliner can fit right in at the world's biggest bass festival.

Alexandra Richards, daughter of rock legend Keith Richards and supermodel Patti Hansen, has made her long-awaited debut with the single “Feel You,” a captivating slice of deep melodic house that effortlessly merges Afro-house vibes with contemporary dance sensibilities.
Growing up in an artistic household undoubtedly shaped Alexandra’s creative vision. With a father who helped define rock ‘n’ roll and a mother who graced the covers of fashion magazines, it’s no surprise that she found herself drawn to the worlds of music and fashion from an early age. After learning the ropes of DJing from friends around New York City, she quickly established herself within the city’s club scene, curating sounds for high-profile events across the globe. This experience shines through in “Feel You,” as she skillfully crafts a sound inspired by global clubs that feels both fresh and familiar.
From the very first notes, “Feel You” envelops listeners in a warm, swoony atmosphere. The production is polished yet organic, letting the track to breathe while holding strong to a persistent groove. Collaborating with the celebrated dance music duo JAIKO, known for their distinctive blend of male and female vocals, Alexandra creates a dynamic interplay between the two and her production. The voices intertwine beautifully, exploring the deep feelings that come with close connections—where personal space blurs into intimacy, and the struggle to stay grounded becomes too much to bear.

Is this the spiritual successor to ‘Shiver’?
John Summit is not holding back. One of the most influential acts of EDM over the last 20 months, turned to social media to tease a special song he’s working on. He turned to Twitter to comment, “currently writing what i think will be next years anthem“, alongside a short video which teases said song. Watch below.
The song, currently under the placeholder name ‘Ritual‘ as can be seen from the video, features an engulfing atmosphere with a somewhat Reese-ey bassline, and a warm female vocal, which seems to go just right down Summit’s alley. If we’ve been able to notice a pattern in his productions lately is just how much his recent craft is meant for a vocal topline as opposed to, say, his earlier Repopulate Mars stuff. And this one surely delivers.
The track seems to be in that style of very melodic and singalong-worthy Tech House he’s been pioneering for a while. After the rousing success of tracks like ‘Where You Are’ and ‘Shiver’, it’s only fair for the Forbes 30 Under 30 to write yet another chapter of his story with a formula that has assured fruition.
We’re yet to see where this new demo goes, and when — potentially, and when — he’ll premiere it, but for now, we can just wait… impatiently.

Renowned Melodic Techno acts Colyn and Innellea are set to embark on a highly anticipated back-to-back tour. This development is set to mark a new chapter in their ongoing collaborative journey. Following unforgettable performances in locations like Tulum and Burning Man, as well as their acclaimed joint effort on ‘Downfall‘ from Innellea’s 2024 LP, The Belonging, the duo has officially set the stage to deliver their musical synergy to fans worldwide.

The series of exclusive shows kicks off at Amsterdam Dance Event with an intimate pop-up show at ABOUTLIFESTYLE/Salon d’Homme. It would transform the men’s boutique into a swanky impromptu nightclub. The highly-anticipated performance is guest list only with free entry. With spots limited, fans are encouraged to secure their spot as soon as possible.
The Colyn Wave:
One of Amsterdam’s own, Colyn has been riding an unprecedented wave of sonic momentum this year. This is courtesy of both his mesmerizing sets and knockout releases. Fresh off jaw-dropping shows at Burning Man and in Ibiza, Colyn continues to captivate global audiences with his introspective and rhythmic sound. Colyn’s latest rework of Vintage Culture’s ‘Chemicals‘ landed alongside Innellea’s take on ‘Promised Land‘ on the Brazilian producer’s new remix album. This together set a new agenda for Melodic Techno worldwide. Colyn is also cultivating buzz with his upcoming collaboration alongside Argentine superstar Nicki Nicole. Although unreleased, the track is not only making the rounds online, but coincides with his duo of shows in Argentina alongside Adriatique. It also celebrated the stop at the Brooklyn Mirage in NYC just last month.
The Innellea Approach:
With Colyn now joining musical forces with Germany’s Innellea, the two Melodic Techno titans are poised to turn the scene inside out. Innellea’s approach to music is one of reinvention. It crafts melancholic yet cinematic soundscapes that serve as both a mirror and a window. It reflects internal states while opening doors to new perspectives. His full-length album from earlier this year, The Belonging, put him at the forefront of the genre. It also showcased an act that is arguably at its best when playing with others. This is further emphasized by his next collaborative release with Colyn, the much anticipated and musically liberating ‘Set Me Free‘.

Now elevating their shared musical vision with a series of exclusive shows, Colyn and Innellea’s upcoming tour promises to raise the bar for Melodic Techno at large. Fans can expect dates and locations to be announced in the coming months.

The ADE kickoff at ABOUTLIFESTYLE/Salon d’Homme sets the stage with a fusion of intimacy, exclusivity, and electricity. Fans are encouraged to secure their spots promptly for this guest-list-only event, as it’s poised to be one of the most talked-about performances of this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event.

As the year draws to a close, music fans are eagerly anticipating the announcement of the Coachella 2025 lineup. While industry insiders are speculating about potential headliners, the exact lineup remains a mystery. That said, rumors have arisen that Fred again.. will be not only a lock, but a headliner of the festival.
According to the outlet HITS Daily Double, the young sensation would be among the first on Coachella’s flyer next year. However, the rest of the top-tier acts are still up in the air. There are speculations that a country music star with pop appeal, such as Jelly Roll, Morgan Wallen, or Post Malone, might be included in the lineup.
Another question mark is who will fill the sub-headliner special guest spot that was occupied by No Doubt last year and Calvin Harris the year before. While Fred again.. is a strong contender, it’s possible he could even be a headliner this year.
Two notable artists who will not be headlining Coachella in 2025 are Rihanna and Kendrick Lamar. Both artists have declined the opportunity, citing other commitments — Lamar gearing up for the Super Bowl, and Rihanna not needing the slot at the festival due to how big of an artist and entrepreneur she has become.

Sofi Tukker is a New York-based musical duo known for their infectious rhythms, vibrant aesthetics, and unforgettable performances. Comprising Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern, they burst onto the scene with “Drinkee,” which earned a Grammy nomination in 2017. Since then, the duo has become synonymous with dance hits like “Best Friend” and “Purple Hat.” Their eclectic mix of house, pop, and Brazilian-influenced beats has made them a fixture in the dance music world.
On October 5th, Sofi Tukker brought their high-energy show to Washington, D.C., performing to a sold-out crowd at The Anthem. As soon as the lights dimmed, it was clear that the night would be one to remember.
Venue
The Anthem, located in the thriving Wharf district of Washington, D.C., is a premier venue for live music. Since its opening in 2017, The Anthem has hosted a variety of acts ranging from rock legends to EDM icons. The venue boasts a versatile capacity of 2,500 to 6,000 attendees, thanks to its movable stage and backdrop. With stunning views of the waterfront and an array of bars and restaurants nearby, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a night out before heading to a show.
Inside, The Anthem’s balconies are designed to bring fans closer to the stage, enhancing the overall concert experience. The 57,000-square-foot venue felt intimate despite its size, making it an ideal place to witness Sofi Tukker’s electrifying set.
Food & Drinks
The Anthem offers a diverse selection of food and beverages that cater to all tastes. The drink menu includes various beers starting at $10 and wines at $14. On the food side, the options ranged from international cuisines such as Margherita Pizza Empanadas and Argentine Beef Empanadas to local favorites like Chicken Masala Wraps and Vegan Falafel Wraps, priced between $13 and $15. There were also shareable plates like Pretzel Bites ($11) and classic Popcorn ($5), though the prices are on par with typical D.C. stadium pricing.
Stage
The stage setup for Sofi Tukker’s show was nothing short of spectacular. With a towering central arc flanked by pillars and multiple platforms, it set the tone for a visually dynamic performance. An expansive LED screen served as the backdrop, coming to life with every beat and burst of light. The stage was illuminated by colorful lasers and visual effects, creating an immersive atmosphere that complemented the music perfectly.
Music & Production
Sofi Tukker opened the show in their signature playful style, holding up bread to the delight of the crowd as they launched into their hit track “Bread.” Throughout the night, the duo’s chemistry was on full display, and their excitement about performing at The Anthem was palpable—they shared that this show was a dream come true after previously opening for Odesza at the same venue in 2017.
The setlist was a blend of fan favorites and newer tracks, including “Throw Some Ass,” “Hey Homie,” “Drinkee,” and “Original Sin.” Each song was elevated by dazzling choreography, a troupe of energetic dancers, and a stunning array of lasers and lights that filled the venue. Every beat seemed to pulse through the crowd, keeping the energy at a high level from start to finish.
Final Impressions
Sofi Tukker’s performance at The Anthem was a vivid reminder of why they have become a beloved name in electronic music. Their ability to connect with the audience and turn a concert into a communal experience is second to none. It’s no surprise the show was sold out, with fans eager to see them perform live again after years of anticipation.
For anyone who hasn’t yet experienced Sofi Tukker live, this concert was a testament to their showmanship and the pure joy they bring to the stage. It’s safe to say that their performance at The Anthem will be remembered as one of the highlights of Washington, D.C.’s fall concert season.

As the music industry continues to evolve, the road to success for independent artists seems to be getting even steeper.
A new report published by Right Chord Music and Musosoup, "The Musician's Census 2024," highlights a series of hurdles that make navigating the path of an independent musician more difficult than ever.
The Musician's Census is one of the most in-depth surveys of grassroots musicians. The global study gathered responses from 300 independent artists across 64 countries, and the trends that emerge paint a stark picture of an industry where getting paid, being heard and building a fanbase are becoming monumental tasks for musicians trying to stay financially afloat.
One of the most alarming revelations of the data centers on payment. Nearly two-thirds of respondents admitted they aren't fully aware if they are receiving the full extent of what they are owed, nor are they certain they aren't. It’s a baffling reality that leaves musicians questioning how they can sustain their careers when financial transparency is often elusive.
Another overwhelming challenge, the report suggests, is the sheer difficulty of gaining exposure. A staggering 54% of musicians said getting their music heard is their biggest hurdle. Market over-saturation was cited as a one major factor, with the constant flood of new releases making it nearly impossible to stand out along with the proliferation of AI-generated music.
Ultimately, 68% of respondents agreed that the path of an independent musician is "tougher than ever," underscoring the mounting obstacles in the bedrock of today’s music industry. You can read and download the full report here.

EDC Thailand has lived up to the hype! Insomniac founder Pasquale Rotella had appeared to spill the beans about the festival coming to the country in March. This was done at the end of the live stream to witness the EDC Las Vegas 2024 lineup reveal. The news further gathered momentum in July with the dates and venue being finalized.

The Boat Avenue Lakefront area of Phuket is poised to witness a spectacle on January 17th – 19th, 2025. It will see the likes of Tiësto, Skrillex, Afrojack, ILLENIUM, FISHER, The Chainsmokers and Vini Vici gracing the stage. The festival will oversee three more stages in addition to the fabled main stage. These will be named as circuitGROUNDS, stereoBLOOM and boomBOX artCAR.

Pasqualle’s signature brand oversees significant global expansion through this move. Coupled with an impeccable production Insomniac is notorious for, Phuket might be already in for a treat.

Patrons can grab their passes here.

When it comes to DJing, having the right gear is essential for delivering a top-notch performance. Danish audio company AIAIAI has recently unveiled a groundbreaking innovation in the world of DJ headphones – the TMA-2 DJ headphones, specifically designed for wireless DJing. With ultra-low latency below ten milliseconds, these headphones are set to revolutionize the way DJs perform.
Design and Features
The TMA-2 DJ headphones boast a sleek and modern design that is both functional and stylish. The 40mm bio-cellulose diaphragm is a standout feature, as it is specifically engineered to deliver crisp and powerful bass, as well as clear treble, ensuring that DJs can hear every nuance of their music. The memory foam ear cushions provide a comfortable fit and excellent sound isolation, allowing DJs to focus on their mix without any distractions.
One of the most impressive features of the TMA-2 DJ headphones is their battery life of 25 hours, which ensures that DJs can keep the party going all night long without worrying about running out of power. The wireless range of ten meters also provides freedom of movement, allowing DJs to move around the stage or venue without being tethered to their equipment. Additionally, the flexible band of the headphones is a game-changer, as it allows for easy adjustments and ensures durability even under the most demanding conditions.
Moreover, the modular design of the TMA-2 DJ headphones sets them apart from other wireless headphones on the market. Users can easily swap out the headphone pads and headbands to customize their headphones to suit their style and preferences. This versatility not only enhances the user experience but also extends the lifespan of the headphones, as components can be replaced if they become damaged or worn out over time.
