Electronic music fans have received a hard-learned lesson in media preservation after Nest HQ, the defunct media platform owned by Skrillex's OWSLA label, removed all of its original music from SoundCloud.
As the Internet Archive battles existential legal challenges and repositories of our favorite websites remain at risk, preservationists around the world have been alerting the public that no media existing entirely online is safe, and backups are essential.
That's hit particularly close to home with fans of the deeply influential Nest HQ brand, whose official SoundCloud account has been purged of original music. Clicking on old links that were once live or articles with uploaded tracks triggers the message: "This track was not found. Maybe it has been removed."
It's unclear at the time of this writing whether or not the removals are permanent. Their ambiguous nature has also puzzled longtime fans, who were left wondering if Nest HQ deleted the music intentionally or if their SoundCloud subscription simply lapsed.
While tragic, it's unsurprising news. Months ago, Nest HQ's YouTube channel was not only scrubbed of its uploads, but deleted entirely. This news largely flew under the radar as many fans also noticed the YouTube deletion this week, despite a July post on the r/Skrillex subreddit that has since been removed by its moderators.
Moreover, the editorial staff of the official Nest HQ blog was laid off a few years ago without advance notice. The website that contained all their hard work was then taken offline, leaving no record of their work—save for indiscriminate stories cached by the Internet Archive—with no recourse to get the content back.
Skrillex has not addressed the deleted Nest HQ uploads.

This Never Happened has had an outstanding year filled with remarkable releases. Today’s introduction is French producer Massane’s latest EP, Visage 8. This captivating three-track EP arrives just months after his exceptional release of his 7th edition of Visage project this summer, showcasing his continuous artistic evolution and commitment to delivering high-quality music.
Visage 8
Visage 8 begins with the captivating track ‘Promise You,’ released by Bruno just a few weeks ago. This piece perfectly exemplifies his signature melodic and emotional production style. It features a heartwarming melody enhanced by layered synths that shift seamlessly, creating a reflective and immersive listening experience. The uplifting and hopeful tone of the repetitive vocals in ‘Promise You’ is tinged with a hint of longing, imbuing the track with rich emotional depth.
Transitioning into the second track, ‘Steps’, fans of Lane 8’s mixtape will find this song familiar and irresistible. Making its debut in the Summer 2024 mixtape, this collaboration with Malian and Roundrobin opens with delicate melodies. They gradually evolve to establish a thoughtful ambiance. The synergy of Malian’s production and Roundrobin’s ethereal vocals creates a dreamlike atmosphere that feels deeply introspective. It explores poignant themes of nostalgia and promise, while being anchored by Massane’s distinct melodic style. This recurring theme of promise unites both tracks beautifully.
The EP climaxes with the striking track ‘Ego’. which takes a bold shift in tone. It begins with faster arpeggios that plunge into darker, more intense territory, clearly setting it apart from the previous tracks’ lighter melodies. ‘Ego’ radiates a raw, haunting energy, immersing listeners in a profound, introspective mood. Wrapped in layers of mystery and depth, it leaves the audience craving more, making this EP an unforgettable experience.
Massane Fall North American Tour
Massane is hitting the road for an exciting fall North American tour, and you won’t want to miss it! This tour will feature unforgettable performances of his latest music, including tracks from the captivating Visage series. An immersion of a unique blend of live electronic music, infused with his signature guitar and melodic house sound will await you at his show. Renowned for crafting deep, emotional atmospheres, Massane’s shows promise to be both intimate and electrifying experiences. Kicking off next weekend in Chicago, the tour will also stop in vibrant cities like Seattle, Denver, and Montreal. Don’t miss this chance to witness his rich, narrative style of electronic music live, complete with stunning visuals and live instrumentation that will elevate your experience to new heights.

With his previous release coming at the start of 2023, ‘Dark Passenger’, K3X makes a powerful return to our playlists with his new single, ‘Dystopia’. After many months spent in the studio, K3X has found the perfect time to release what he has been working on and that begins with this incredible single.

Released on Unstoppable Records, K3X blends the evocative elements of melodic deep techno with a dystopian narrative, creating a unique tone in the single which sets it apart from other releases in the genre. The track dives deep into the tension between dark futuristic landscapes and fleeting moments of hope. The central theme of dystopia, marked by an ever-encroaching sense of isolation and dissonance, is expressed through haunting melodies, cavernous basslines, and mechanical rhythms.

Drawing inspiration from a world on the edge, the track paints an audial picture of a dystopian future, where technology and humanity are locked in a struggle for control. Through atmospheric soundscapes and minimalistic yet hypnotic beats, K3X masterfully captures the anxiety of a society in turmoil while offering glimpses of beauty within the chaos.
This release is designed to resonate with listeners who crave depth in their electronic music, an exploration of both inner and outer worlds, evoking the feeling of wandering through a desolate urban sprawl under an endless night sky.

Hocus Pocus Festival took place from October 31st to November 2nd at Factory Town in Miami, Florida. Hosted by Miami Link Rebels and Insomniac, the event embodied all things Halloween complete with a costume contest and a haunted house. Across four stages, attendees were treated to a myriad of electronic music styles, from Latin beats to hard techno.
Venue
Located in Hialeah, Miami’s “City of Progress,” Factory Town is committed to fostering a diverse community of music lovers and creatives. While the venue’s open-air design and community-focused mission were highlights, there were a few logistical challenges.
The remote industrial location complicated transportation, with difficulties finding rides or calling rideshares. Additionally, the lack of permanent bathroom facilities meant long wait times for the VIP trailer restrooms and disappointingly unsanitary porter potties in the general admission areas by the end of the night. Despite these logistical challenges, the venue is well suited for electronic music events with its state of the art sound system.
Food & Drinks
Hocus Pocus Festival pleasantly surprised us with its variety of food offerings. Attendees could indulge in everything from Spoonbills Snoballs ($8) and loaded al pastor fries ($20) to BBQ sandwiches ($16) and various platters ($20-$35).
The drink selection was standard for Miami, with single cocktails ($16), double cocktails ($22), bottles of Aguardiente ($50), ready-to-drink canned cocktails ($14), beer ($10), and non-alcoholic options ($5-$7). Monaco Tequila Cocktails even had a stand offering free shots.
Stages
The festival featured four distinct stages, each with its own unique character:
Infinity Room
This stage, the main stage of the festival, transported attendees to a realm of infinite possibilities. Featuring artists like Eliza Rose, Cassian B2B Kevin de Vries, and ARTBAT, the stage looked like an old spooky house with “Hocus Pocus” illuminating at the top and laser beams shooting out of the windows.
The Park
Serving as the festival’s dedicated hard techno stage, featuring the likes of Nico Moreno, Oguz, Eli Brown, Lily Palmer, and Charlotte de Witte. The stage had a large LED screen behind the DJ booth and a balcony that offered a bird’s-eye view of the action.
Espacio Proximo
This stage celebrated the rich diversity of two fundamental facets of the Miami dance music scene: house music and Latin beats. Artists like LF System and Austin Millz performed on a stage framed by a pyramid of LED lights, speakers on each side, and palm trees lit up in the background, evoking the vibrant Miami vibe.
Cypress End
The smallest of the stages, nestled beside the haunted house, provided a more intimate vibe. Offering a mix of acid house and psytrance, this stage gave attendees a break from the larger, high-energy areas of the festival.
Music
Across the four stages, artists delivered captivating performances that kept the dancefloors packed and the energy high throughout the weekend.
Kobosil
Kobosil, considered one of techno’s fastest rising DJs and producers, brought his signature deep, fast, and aggressive sound to the Infinity Room. Drawing inspiration from EBM, noise, and industrial, he captivated the crowd with tracks like “Pray & Die,” “Beat You Back,” “Paper & Pen,” “Eye Twitching,” and “Getting Started.”
Nico Moreno
Nico Moreno closed out Thursday night (or rather, Friday morning) with an electrifying set on the Park stage, playing hard-hitting tracks such as “Bust Like,” “F4Ke Drop,” and the crowd-pleasing “This is What it Feels Like” featuring Warface.
VTSS
Newcomer VTSS made a lasting impression with her high-energy, genre-blending performance. She enchanted the audience with tracks like “Profiler” and “Get Down,” showcasing her versatile talents as a techno maximalist.
Patrick Mason
Berlin-based DJ and producer Patrick Mason epitomized the energy of the New Underground, delivering an infectious, highly energizing live hybrid set that took the audience on a journey through sound. Tracks like “Time to Time” and “Don’t Want To” had the crowd captivated by his larger-than-life dance moves and dynamic presence.
Final Impressions
Hocus Pocus Festival’s commitment to Halloween and spooky theme was impressive, from giant illuminated eyeballs to inflatable ghosts, there was something around every corner.
Attendees could also indulge in various vendor stands selling rave accessories, apparel, and more, all while immersing themselves in the Halloween-themed decorations and lighting that fully embraced the Hocus Pocus spirit. There were also ample places to chill and sit including a repurposed school bus. By blending spooky entertainment with world-class electronic music, Hocus Pocus Festival cast a spell on attendees, making it an epic Halloween weekend in Miami.

Drum & Bass music, once an underground movement, now sits firmly on the global stage. Continuing to channel its melting pot origins, the genre flexes a diverse mix of styles, visually translated within the accompanying creative.
Enhancing stand-out in a crowded, super accessible music arena, this creative plays an integral and essential part in the magic of the end product; whether it’s being delivered via digital platforms or on tangible traditional vinyl sleeves (a recent resurgence in that format firmly led by the genre itself).
As both a designer and producer for that genre I wanted to highlight some of the creative visual alchemists in the scene. What follows isn’t an ordered, exclusive list of who’s who. Simply an indulgent homage and unapologetic fan-boy type admiration of designers who I revere and who have not only influenced me personally, but artists that I feel have visually enhanced the scene with their super dope creative output. I think you’ll agree when you see their work
Jon Black
www.magnetstudio.com | Instagram

Jon is one of the Godfathers of Design for Drum & Bass. After replying to an advert in Viz Comic, he landed a job first working at the seminal Rising High Records and then at Vinyl Distribution (UK’s leading underground music distributor at the time); proceeding to be on design duties for over 20 prolific labels including Metalheadz, Ram, Good Looking, True Playaz, Exit, 31 Records… and that’s just me dipping my toe into the list.
His pivotal designs were influenced by the likes of Neville Brody (with his experimental FUSE typography projects), and also The Designers Republic. What Drum & Bass heads may not know is that the skull used on the front of the Grooverider’s legendary ‘Prototype Years’ album was donated by a local hospital.
“I walked over from my office and asked if they had an old x-ray I could use on an album sleeve. A thoroughly confused doctor agreed to hand one over. I have no idea who’s head it was!”
Jon’s favourite Drum & Bass track: Ed Rush & Nico – ‘Technology’ (Boymerang Remix)
Ricky Trickartt
www.trickartt.com | Instagram

Ricky’s epic journey into design began in his teens, after reaching out to John B on Dogs on Acid forum. “They say that on the internet, nobody knows you’re a dog, and he didn’t realise how young a teenager I was – I wasn’t even old enough to come out to his gigs!”
Decades later, and Ricky’s enviable roster of clients includes Hospital Records, BBC Radio 1Xtra, 31 Records, Breakbeat Kaos and Dom & Roland; creating hundreds of sleeves and campaigns from the deepest underground minimalism, through to big global charting releases.
Working with Hospital Records, from its humble Shoreditch beginnings to shows at Brixton Academy (where luckily he didn’t have to sneak with fake I.D. anymore), Ricky’s ethos has always been to have fun with it all and
never try to take it very seriously.
“I particularly like working outside of the computer using practical effects… I try not to follow trends – I just really like the process of making things, however I can do it.”
Ricky’s favourite Drum & Bass track: Nitin Sawhney – ‘Sunset’ (London Elektricity Remix)
Simone Deiana

Everything started in the late ’90s for Italian Graphic Designer and DJ / Producer Simone. Working on his own musical projects (under the artist name of Arpxp), his visual flair took the form of flyers and artwork for not only his own self-released music and events in his hometown Cagliari (Sardinia) but for many Drum & Bass promoters across Italy; providing graphics for festivals and top-billed club nights with the likes of Hype, Pendulum, Noisia and Roni Size on the line-up.
Following that, his role as Art Director flourished, giving him the opportunity to be more involved in the creative process on campaigns for Labels including Sun And Bass, Spearhead, Metalheadz, Dispatch and CIA Records.
His influence stretches wide; ranging from the iconic Bauhaus Movement to Graffiti.
“I hate when I have to say ‘no’ to the artist’s brief. It’s happened quite a few times. The dialogue between music and visual design can be tricky sometimes.”
Simone’s favourite Drum & Bass track: Marcus Intalex – ‘Temperance’
Gary Haslam
www.process.black | Instagram

Another creative pioneer in the scene, Gary first ventured into sleeve design after meeting Sean (of ‘2 Bad Mice’ fame) whilst on an HND Graphic Design course, who asked him if he’d be up for doing a few sleeves. 30 years later, Gary unleashed his visual alchemy for labels including Moving Shadow, Over/Shadow, Charge Recordings, Innerground Records and V Recordings; for a plethora of legendary artists on the 200+ Sleeves, he’s had his creative hands on.
Gary’s been influenced by many design studios over the years including the Designer’s Republic, Build, Attik, Stylorouge and Territory Studios.
“I guess it was less about trends, but more what seemed right for the project at that point in time… and at times working closely with the artists on projects to help realise their visions and ideas… It’s always been an opportunity to explore new ideas and styles I’d never normally get to do and to be back doing it again for Over/Shadow, after a break of about 10 years… well… it’s awesome.”
Gary’s favourite Drum & Bass track: Omni Trio – ‘Renegade Snares’ (Foul Play Remix)
Seth Broman

Raised on a diet of 80s movies, comics, Cinematography, old-school anime, graffiti and other digital artists,  Seth’s early creative output for flyers soon transitioned into designing for events and LPs, producing visuals for the likes of Metalheadz, Renegade Hardware, Playaz, Reinforced Records, Dispatch Records and Intrigue Music.
Drawing on the mood from the dark corners of Seattle and Denver, his often macabre imagery creates a dark narrative of the modern urban experience; in both his design for music labels and for his creative output under the moniker ‘Grym’.
As Manager of Experimental Bass Label ‘Onset Audio’, Seth draws a close parallel in the creative process of both design and music.
“What I found as I got deeper into the process and software [of music production] was that it was very similar to designing in Photoshop. You have layers, you have plug-ins, you have samples. And the artistic process of trial and error definitely had parallels.”

Hailing from Southern California, Dan’s been flexing his design skills since 2016. Leaving his corporate job to focus solely on music and design, he’s since been creative for labels including Blu Mar Ten Music, Cosmic Bridge, CNVX and None60; creating artwork almost exclusively for the music industry, alongside releasing his own Drum and Bass Music as Akuratyde and running his own label Modern Conveniences.
With a background in both design and music, his process for both is very similar; initially sketching out ideas in both mediums, with multiple iterations of ideas, whether it be different colours or bass lines – tweaking and refining until he lands on the version he’s ultimately happy with.
“I don’t follow a lot of current design trends but one I have been following is what I’ll call the “cyberpunk” look.  Travis Kane is my favourite designer in that style. I also like Mishko a lot. I don’t like copying someone else but I pull a lot of influences from that style for my own label”.

93 Feet East on Brick Lane has been at the heart of London’s underground music scene for a quarter of a century. This iconic East London institution is now marking its 25th year with the much-anticipated return of the game-changing party FUSE while an upgraded sound system and cutting-edge lighting setup mark the start of a bold new chapter for this vital cultural space.
93 Feet East is situated within Shoreditch’s Old Truman Brewery complex and has always been synonymous with some of the UK’s most celebrated events. Chief amongst those is FUSE, the infamous Sunday daytime party founded by Enzo Siragusa in 2008 and closely linked with residents like Seb Zito, Rich NxT, and Archie Hamilton who helped to define its signature sound.
One thing that always sets 93 Feet East apart is the day into night experience. When parties start in the afternoon, the sun beams in through the big windows and bathes everyone in light. As those rays fade, the music changes to suit the mood and dancers are immersed in the club’s cutting-edge lights and a brand new and unique sensory experience unfolds as the party plays out into night.
In October 2024 FUSE returned to 93 Feet East with the innovative [X—Series], a special run of 10 consecutive Sunday daytime sessions for the first time since 2012, and with a strict no-phones policy. This initiative features sets from Enzo next to secret unannounced guests and debut B2Bs. The series has recaptured the essence of the original FUSE events with an emphasis on authentic clubbing experiences free from phone distractions and offers a safe space with no tolerance for discrimination of any sort.
So far the likes of ADMNTi, Cristi Cons, Dr Banana, Dan Ghenancia, Fabe, Gene On Earth, Harry McCanna, Huerta, Janeret, Kepler, Laidlaw, Marlie, Pach, Reeshy, Reflex Blue, RICH Not, Rossi, Shonky, tINI, Traumer, Tristan Da Cunha and Voightmann have played with more weekly surprises in the pipeline until the finale on 15th December.
Says FUSE regular Seb Zito, “On Sunday I popped down to what once was my second home, 93 Feet East, every week. Even if I wasn’t playing | was on that dance floor connecting with the music and the people. My whole sound was inspired by this place and I got to experience that again on Sunday. Looking forward to being re-inspired once again on a Sunday and connecting with each other. Big up Enzo Siragusa and  FUSE for putting on these weekly shows and allowing the next generation to feel what we felt back in 2008.”
Over the years, 93 Feet East, which entails a Main Room, Live Room, Courtyard and Members and Gallery Bar, has undergone several refurbishments that have kept it one step ahead of the game. Now the venue enters another bold new phase with a raft of superb upgrades that enhance the overall live experience for both DJs and club-goers.
Firstly, the legendary sound systems, which are widely seen as some of the best in the capital, have been upgraded. The Main Room now boasts a Funktion One 4 with three F124 bass speakers and the high-spec production setup includes a Eurolite Blinder, Power Strobe, Hazer, an LCD projector and a vast screen. The final improvements to the Main Room layout are set to increase capacity in conjunction with some slick bar upgrades.
Beyond music, 93 Feet East is an adaptable multi-use space that has hosted various cultural and social events including art exhibitions, and community meet-ups. The surrounding Brick Lane area is a bustling and vibrant hub with an eclectic mix of markets, street art and rich cultural diversity all serving as a magnet for an array of talented artists with 93 Feet East at the heart of it all.
As well as a superb close to 2024, watch out for much more from an array of heavyweight headliners in 2025 as 93 Feet East heads into a bold new era after 25 years at the forefront.  Head to the website for listings, tickets and hire enquiries – www.93feeteast.co.uk

Pet Shop Boys release their new double A-side single, ‘New London boy’ / ‘All the young dudes’, today, November 7. The single is available now as two digital bundles and from November 15 as two CD singles.
The first five-track format includes a new radio edit of ‘New London boy’ and a cover version of the David Bowie-penned ‘All the young dudes’ produced by James Ford with orchestral arrangements by Anne Dudley. Pet Shop Boys originally performed this song in February in BBC Radio 2’s ‘Piano Room’. The lyrics of ‘New London boy’ are about Neil moving to London in 1972 at the height of the glam rock era when ‘All the young dudes’ was a hit – linking the two songs thematically. The bundle also includes a different ‘Delinquent’ version of ‘All the young dudes’ produced by Pet Shop Boys and an extended remix by Richard X, plus a previously unreleased song, ‘Beauty has laid siege to the city’, which was written and recorded in 2020 and uses a quotation from the 19th century illustrator, Aubrey Beardsley, as the title.
The second four-track format features a Richard X edit and I. JORDAN remix of ‘All the young dudes’, a Boy Harsher remix of ‘New London boy’ and the song ‘Clean Air Hybrid Electric Bus’, which was originally written and recorded in 2015 and included as a bonus track on the Japanese deluxe edition of the ‘Nonetheless’ CD.
The digital bundles are available now. The CD singles will be released on Friday November 15 and are available to pre-order now. The cover art for the first format/CD1 features a photo of Neil taken that year when he first moved to London, while the second format/CD2 cover is a picture of Chris shot in 1981, the year he arrived in the city.

Pet Shop Boys released their fifteenth album, ‘Nonetheless’, produced by James Ford, on Parlophone Records in April. The record includes the singles ‘Loneliness’, ‘Dancing star’, ‘A new bohemia’ and ‘Feel’ and reached Number 2 in the UK album chart in its first week of release – their highest-charting studio album since 1993. A special expanded edition of the album will be released on November 22 featuring the full record, four new bonus songs and the original demo versions of all the tracks on the album. It can be pre-ordered now.

Last week they announced that they will release a special PSB-themed tea set. The products are the first to be launched as part of the new Pet Shop Boys since 1984 range to commemorate 40 years since the release of the duo’s debut single – the original version of ‘West End girls’. The limited-edition collection – designed by long-term collaborators Farrow with Tennant and Lowe and manufactured by Duchess China – features a tea pot, cups and saucers, milk jug and sugar bowl. The tea sets are on sale from November 20 and available to pre-order now.
In July Pet Shop Boys concluded the latest UK and European dates of their ‘Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live’ tour with a sold-out residency at London’s Royal Opera House which received five-star press reviews, and in September they headlined the Sunday night at this year’s BBC Radio 2 in the Park in Preston. This Sunday they will perform at the MTV EMAs in Manchester at the Co-op Live arena and from November 11-14, 11pm-12am, Pet Shop Boys will present shows for BBC Radio 6 Music’s Artist in Residence.

Pet Shop Boys have sold more than 50 million records, released 60 singles spanning five decades and are listed in The Guinness Book of Records as the most successful UK duo of all time.

2024 is already shaping up to be a milestone year for rising producer Danny EVIZA, who has impressed us with the releases of ‘Gone’ and ‘I Am Done’.
Join K3X on this thought-provoking journey now and prepare to lose yourself in the dystopian visions that shape his unique melodic deep techno sound, exclusively on Unstoppable Records.

25 years later, Darude's "Sandstorm" remains the delightfully unhinged gift that keeps on giving.
For anyone who remembers the "Sandstorm" era, it was an unstoppable force, sweeping through clubs, soundtracking countless gaming videos and living on as the internet's universal trolling answer to, "What song is this?"
Now, an official remake by Sikdope has hit streaming platforms, recapturing that same boundless energy but amplifying it for today's festival crowd.
Longtime fans of the original may initially recoil, but adventurous listeners will find his unhinged interpretation a wild, cathartic ride. It's the "Sandstorm" your meme-addled, Juul-jittered Gen Z nephew would approve of.
The Polish beatsmith reimagines "Sandstorm" as a neo-rave slammer, whipping Darude's classic melody into a frenzy of euphoric synth stabs and battering percussion. His full-throttle reinvention breathes new life into one of dance music's most enduring anthems, transforming it into a raw banger that'll have seasoned ravers white-knuckling the nearest surface.
Listen to Sikdope's version of "Sandstorm" below and find the new single on streaming platforms here.
