The Prodigy are set to tear up Coachella festival once again, as Liam Howlett and Maxim bring a new wave of fire along with drummer Leo Crabtree and guitarist Rob Holliday. 
Following their Coachella Weekend One performance, they will bring their electrifying live show to The Warfield for their only confirmed North American performance beyond the festival. The Warfield show also marks The Prodigy’s first stateside solo show since 2017 – it’s not to be missed! 
With 34 years at the forefront of the electronic music scene, The Prodigy remains an unstoppable force, even after the tragic loss of their brother, Keith Flint, in 2019. Since their return to the stage in July 2022, the band has delivered their signature explosive live performances across headline slots at festivals including Reading & Leeds, Isle of Wight, and many more, as well as their own UK & European headline arena tours. As they prepare for their 2025 festival run, The Prodigy are also hard at work in the studio, crafting new material to follow up their critically acclaimed album ‘No Tourists,’ which solidified their record-breaking streak of seven consecutive UK No. 1 albums, dating back to 1997’s ‘Music For The Jilted Generation.’

European live music powerhouse Superstruct Entertainment has reportedly acquired Boiler Room, the iconic electronic music livestream platform, from UK-based ticketing company DICE.
The move signals a shift in DICE’s strategic priorities and a new chapter for Boiler Room under Superstruct’s expansive festival and live music umbrella.
DICE originally acquired Boiler Room in 2021 after a $122 million funding round and has since secured over $200 million. News of the ticketing company's divestment from the brand comes in the wake of a Bloomberg newsletter that claimed its valuation could reach "hundreds of millions of dollars."
Boiler Room, which has streamed events across 120 markets and amassed over a billion views online, will reportedly maintain its leadership team and distinct identity under Superstruct.
"As we turn 15 and enter our next stage of growth, we’re excited to be partnering with Superstruct for this chapter," Boiler Room founder Blaise Bellville said. "We feel in good company with their roster of brands, they offer us new opportunities to grow, whilst understanding the importance of staying true to the authenticity that, at its core, is what makes Boiler Room special."
For Superstruct, the acquisition follows its own buyout by private-equity giant KKR in a €1.3 billion deal last year. The deal underscores the company's ambitions to expand its influence in electronic music culture by leveraging Boiler Room's community-driven ethos.

In a rare and revealing interview with Variety, Matteo Milleri—known as Anyma—offered deep insights into his creative process, the groundbreaking Sphere residency, and what lies ahead for his project. Blending technology with music, Anyma’s work transcends traditional music performances, creating fully immersive, multi-sensory experiences.
Speaking just a week before the debut of his End of Genesys residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere, Milleri shared his meticulous creative process. From his minimalist Los Angeles home, he revealed running around 20 VR visuals tests with his team, perfecting elements like robotic cello arms and a quantum computer replica. “The final piece is called Human Now, and basically Eva”—the AI character at the center of Anyma’s performances—“is going to turn human to close the circle. But will it work? Is she human?” he mused.
A Visionary Experience
Anyma’s performances are renowned for their immersive quality, blending state-of-the-art visuals with melodic techno soundscapes. Collaborating with visual artists and utilizing technologies like virtual reality (VR) and extended reality (XR), Milleri creates multisensory experiences that blur the lines between the physical and digital realms. “I started this project basically to explore possibilities beyond what’s physical. But I never had in mind to have it be dissociative, like in a VR. It was more about extended reality,” he says.
The residency, initially scheduled for six nights, was extended to eight due to high demand, with six of the eight shows selling out within 24 hours. Over 130,000 tickets have been sold, underscoring the significant interest in Anyma’s innovative approach to live electronic music.
Fan-captured clips of the Sphere shows dominated social media over the holidays, amplifying the residency’s impact. The performances marked the culmination of Milleri’s Genesys era, powered by two albums released since 2023. A third album is planned to close this chapter, with new concepts on quantum computing and multiverses—introduced to Milleri by Grimes—already influencing his next steps. “This arrived to a point of saturation,” he admitted. “When ideas get recycled, I’m the first to think, what’s next? I want to move forward. But I want to give it a very glorified ending.”
The Anyma project began in 2021 as a personal exploration, with Milleri initially self-funding his work. Overcoming skepticism and financial challenges, he released Genesys in 2023 and grew his platform through viral remixes and global shows. Yet, the Sphere represented a culmination of his efforts. “This is the pivotal moment,” he reflected. “It goes further than what you expect sometimes.”
Despite his success, Milleri addressed misconceptions about his rise, particularly criticism suggesting nepotism. One of the reasons Milleri agreed to an interview was to set the record straight. “People don’t know the story of me. I think it happens with a lot of big artists, like they popped up out of nowhere,” he says. “But actually, no, it’s four or five years of grinding, and for me 15 years. I have not stumbled into this. It’s all been focusing to one pivotal moment, which I think for me now is this. It goes further than what you expect sometimes.”
Every dollar earned has gone back into his art, he explained, noting that even a concert film of the Sphere residency would have to be self-funded. People have been quick to claim that Milleri’s success comes from his father who this year became CEO of eyewear company EssilorLuxottica, has been funneling money into his project. “The guy got his dad to pay for all his projects.’ Blah blah blah. Like, look, I don’t know if that’s what you want to be saying around because you’re just going to be telling some kid he has a dream that he can’t do it because he’s broke, because you don’t know what happened here but this is what I do. I think I do it at a very high level and dedicated my life to it.”
Technological Integration
The Las Vegas Sphere, known for its advanced technological capabilities, provides an ideal setting for Anyma’s performances. The venue features a 160,000-square-foot LED screen that delivers a fully immersive viewing experience, complemented by a state-of-the-art sound system. This infrastructure allows Anyma to bring his concepts to life in ways that were previously not possible, creating an environment where technology and art coexist seamlessly. The residency presented a “cybernetic opera” divided into four acts—Genesys, Humana, End of Genesys, and Quantum. These acts explore the integration of human and machine, set against stunning visuals and live performances with collaborators such as FKA Twigs, Grimes, and Ellie Goulding.

From vinyl-spinning at underground raves to pioneering virtual reality performances, Las Vegas-based DJ and producer Nicky Genesis has spent over 15 years crafting her unique blend of soulful, groovy house music. In this intimate conversation, she shares her journey through electronic music, discusses how she keeps classic tracks alive for modern dance floors, and reveals her vision for the future of virtual reality in live music experiences.
Your sound blends deep, groovy house with soulful elements. As a Las Vegas-based artist, how has the city’s dynamic nightlife scene influenced your musical evolution, and what drew you to electronic music initially?
I grew up infatuated with music and collected as much as I could. I loved so many genres; Rock, funk, folk, pop, metal, rap, R&B, reggae, and then ventured into electronic music. My intro to electronic dance music was when I entered the rave scene in the early 2000s. That’s when I bought turn tables and taught myself how to spin vinyl and DJ all the music that I loved so much. Raves were still very much an underground scene but I loved the raw energy, the universal connection and collective consciousness through the frequencies. I knew I found my calling. Being such a music enthusiast I knew through DJing, I could share my emotions, create an experience to share with like minded people through the music. so I’ve been collecting music, perfecting my craft, and performing all around the world ever since. Living in Las Vegas has been great to be in a place that offers such a wide variety of music and artists performing constantly. Pretty much all genres of musical performances are available to experience here and I love it. I am grateful to be able to take advantage of being able to see so many great musicians that perform here.
You’ve mentioned finding inspiration in classic tracks like Elvis’s “Jailhouse Rock” How do you approach reimagining these timeless pieces for modern dance floors while maintaining their essence?
I really love the idea of keeping oldies alive by infusing them into modern versions. Honoring the original while giving it a new twist. A majority of the younger generations don’t really know artists like Elvis or have really listened to his music. So by infusing samples and recording covers of classic songs and remixing them to create new tracks people will want to listen to again and dance to. It breathes a new life by inspiring new music as time goes on.  
With 15+ years of experience playing clubs and festivals worldwide, what’s been your most memorable festival experience, and how does that influence your approach to creating immersive experiences in the virtual space?
I have played countless sets over the years and have had so many incredible experiences. It’s always when the energy exchange between the DJ and the people is palpable. It’s really feeling that connection with each other. This set at Joshua Tree Music festival truly does stand out in my mind because of the amazing energy I felt there. Joshua Tree holds a special place in my heart. The energy portals are real. That night, I truly felt a unity with all the people there. It felt like everyone entered my spaceship and I was taking us all on a ride together. People got up dancing like crazy on the platforms all around me. The place was jumping and swinging. It was an absolute vibe. I live for energy like that. I will always remember that night and smile. The even greater part is, now I can relive it in VR thanks to PulseJet!  
Your recent collaboration with PulseJet brings virtual reality into the electronic music space. How do you see VR technology shaping the future of live electronic music Performances?
I really enjoyed collaborating with Pulse Jet. Being able to film a musical experience and then go back to watch it again in a virtual space was really amazing for me personally. It definitely opens up the possibilities of how we can experience entertainment and relive our favorite live performances and precious memories. As the technology continues to advance, we may be able to experience a live event in HD VR in real time with impeccable precision. I don’t believe it can replace the experience of being up close in real life and feeling the live energy. However,  being able to experience an incredible mind blowing set from your favorite artist live, and then to be able to go back and watch it again in your VR goggles and be teleported right back I think is pretty rad. 
Your recent Instagram post beautifully described music as a universal force that connects people on an “astral plane”; Could you elaborate on how this philosophy shapes your approach to production and performance?
Music is composed of frequencies and vibrations. Our bodies and minds also operate with frequencies and vibrations. When we listen to music, it resonates within our minds, bodies and souls. We can feel it inside us, even when words can’t describe the feeling. People can bond as if to be teleporting to another dimension when we are experiencing music together. Even if we don’t speak the same language we can love the same music, dance to it, smile to it, cry to it, and relate to each other. It’s powerful and healing on a spiritual level.  
Having released music on labels like Glo, Sony, Simplify, Nightbass, Confession, how has your production style evolved since your first release in 2011?
The world of music production is constantly evolving. New tools, new techniques. It’s unique for each producer to develop their own personal method that works for them. A lot of EDM producers use the same platform (Ableton) to produce, yet each of us does it a little bit differently. That’s the key to molding your signature sound and skills. I have learned so much over the years and am still learning as I continue to grow as a producer. Discovering new tricks, techniques, customizing sounds and effects. It’s always evolving. 
Your VJ sets create a unique visual experience alongside your music. What inspired you to incorporate visual elements into your performances, and how do you curate visuals that complement your sound?
I love creating an audio and visual experience with the sets. Incorporating a visual element really transcends the experience to tell a story. I love using sacred geometry and beautiful images in motion to elevate the energy of the music. I am creating my vault of custom visuals to play at my shows to bring a unique performance with every set.    
The influence of disco is evident in your groovy productions. Which disco era artists or tracks have most profoundly impacted your sound?
If there’s one thing about me is that I love funky, groovy music. Disco and Soul encapsulates an energy that is joyful, energizing and positive. To dance out your troubles and worries and be fully present with the music. On the dance floor we are all equal, safe and loved. I am very inspired by early Rock and Roll from the 50s, 60s, 70s. Soul, and rock & roll musicians like Little Richard, the “architect of Rock & Roll”! Instruments and organic elements spark a pure and organic energy in my spirit and I want to project that in my music. 
As both a DJ and producer, how do you balance creating music for home listening versus crafting tracks that will work on large festival systems?
The music I listen to at home is very different from the music I get into when I’m prepping for a performance set. When I’m at home I mostly listen to trip hop, downtempo, instrumental hip hop, or ambient melodic deep house, or really any wide variety of music depending on my mood. I can have it playing and enjoy it kinda subconsciously while still going about my daily tasks or work. It soothes my mind. On the other hand when I’m in my studio producing music to play at a club or festival, I go for the most intriguing, stimulating, “stop what you’re doing and dance right now” energy that I can. When I’m playing a club or festival set, my intention is to make you dance, sing, rock out, express yourself, and be fully present with the music and let it move you. 
Looking ahead, what new directions or experimental sounds are you excited to explore in your upcoming releases?
I have a lot of new music I’m working on. I have found a fun pocket of funky dancefloor bangers that are soulful and energetic. That has been the style of music I’ve been releasing lately and I’m loving it. It’s interesting for me because there are days I’ll want to make completely different music. Different genres, different styles than what I play at shows. I don’t feel that limiting your creativity is healthy for an artist. It’s important to express your art however you want without limitations. In the next upcoming years I am looking forward to exploring new depths of my creativity and releasing music that explores deeper layers of my artistic expression.

For years GALA Festival has taken to Peckham Rye Park in South London to deliver a community-oriented event full of house music that honours the originators of club culture. Now for their 10th anniversary they’re taking this event around the world to bring this amazing experience to even more people.
The tour will be starting in the festivals home country of England with the first show being in Newcastle followed by another UK gig in Bristol a couple weeks after. The UK shows will have some homegrown DJs including DJ EZ, Pearson Sound and Manami. From there GALA Festival will be spreading its wings as it travels to Tokyo, Lisbon, New York, Chicago, Sao Paulo, Berlin, Amsterdam, and then finally wraps up the tour in Melbourne with each show fielding local talent. 10 years of GALA, 10 cities around the world, 10 nights of intoxicating dance music while collaborating with the likes of Rainbow Disco Club, Gop Tun, Refuge Worldwide, Rush Hour, and Crown Ruler.
With more announcements to come on the lineups for the shows abroad there is plenty to look forward to in this exciting expansion from GALA Festival as they widen their network.

These past few weeks in Los Angeles have been difficult for many, especially for some of our favorite musical artists. In a heartfelt message to his fans, The Weeknd has announced on Instagram the cancellation of his highly anticipated Rose Bowl show. Set to be in Los Angeles on January 25, 2025. This is due to the devastating fires currently affecting the region. Out of deep respect and concern for the people of Los Angeles County, he decided to cancel the performance and postpone his upcoming album’s release.
Shifting focus to support and recovery
The Weeknd, who has long considered Los Angeles a source of profound inspiration in his career, expresses his thoughts and well-wishes for everyone impacted by the fires. In his statement, he emphasized that his focus remains on supporting the recovery efforts. The singer’s words echoed a sense of responsibility to his community. Showing care for the well-being of the people of Los Angeles over his scheduled performances.
Postponed Album Release
In addition to the Rose Bowl concert cancellation, The Weeknd pushed back the release date of his upcoming album. Originally slated for release on January 25, the album will now be released on January 31, 2025. The artist’s decision to delay the release was made to ensure that his efforts to support the affected communities remain his top priority during this difficult time.

Fans are expressing understanding and support for the artist’s decision, with many appreciating his focus on community and recovery in light of such a tragedy. Others have said they are disappointed because they were looking forward to the one positive thing on their schedule outside the grueling fires.
Many events in Los Angeles are on the chopping block amidst the wildfires that currently still burning. Even parts of The Grammys are in talks to be postponed or canceled.

Los Angeles has been absolutely devastated by the wildfires which have destroyed many people’s homes and have left them in a dire situation. Thousands have already offered support through donations and now Duke Dumont is adding to that effort with a fire relief fundraiser.
On January 19th he will be heading to the Sound Nightclub in LA to perform and 100% of the ticketing proceeds will be going towards local fire relief efforts. These proceeds will help those affected by the fire by going towards recovery, cleanup, reopening schools, and implementing measures to help prevent something like this happening again.
Support has been coming from all around the world, from all different industries and it’s reassuring to see that music can also assist in bringing this tragedy to an end.

Among the phase one slate are hard-hitting sonics including acts like rock-influenced dance pioneers Sullivan King B2B, meteoric electronic acts Levity and Tape B who will perform individual sets in addition to a B2B, drum & bass producer Reaper, and rising Toronto bass DJ and producer Canabliss.
The four stages
The four main stages of Elements Festival reflect the natural forces it honors. While Earth turns into a strange dreamscape of shimmering trees, cosmic mushrooms, and floating jellyfish, the Fire stage humbs with high-energy performances for thrill seekers. While Water becomes a sunlit playground with acrobats, playful characters, and festival attendees encouraged to embrace swimwear and delve into an immersive 360° stage experience, Air is a hidden sanctuary of sound tucked deep among the forests.
Elements Music & Arts Festival Thriving at its site at Long Pond in the woodlands close to the racecourse with an on-site solar farm to drive sustainability projects, Elements has become a unique multi-day camping event. Along with a Health & Wellness lineup including yoga, sound baths, aromatherapy, dance, comedy, and multidisciplinary workshops, fans can explore art cars reminiscent of Burning Man and rows of guest-created theme camps known as Vibe Villages among the grounds, large-scale art installations, interactive performances, and 3D video projection mapping.

Along with an all-new 2025 option called the “Entourage Pass,” which gives backstage access and more, Tier Three GA and VIP passes are available on the official Elements Festival website. Among the other lodging options available to attendees are car camping, glamping, local motels, ready-to-go RVs, or tents. 2025 will see Dave Beer release his debut album under his own name, preceded by a number of top-notch singles. First up comes ‘For The Beloved’, which features some amazing soulful vocals from Chicago house music legend Robert Owens, recorded when he stayed over in Leeds.
 
“‘For The Beloved’ is dedicated to all of my beloved and anyone who’s ever felt the love that comes from the dancefloor and behind the decks of Back To Basics,” Dave says. “It’s dedicated to those who you truly treasure and who you have real gratitude for for having them in your lives, and friends and family that make you feel blessed. Thank you, I love you.”
 
‘For The Beloved’ is the first single from Dave’s forthcoming album, ‘What Goes Around’, and is being followed by some remixes by none other than US House god Todd Terry, a Back To Basics regular over the years.
 
“I’m at my happiest when I’m making music, and it feels right to be getting this collection out now — the first music I’ve ever released under my own name,” Dave says. “For me, it’s essential that you make music from the heart, for the love of making music and people getting together.”
 
‘For The Beloved’ in its various iterations is a fine way to kick off the 2025 album campaign from a bona fide legend in the game.
 
A teenage punk rocker, Dave Beer began following The Clash and The Cure around until he fell into jobs as roadie and tour manager for various 80s indie bands. When acid house arrived in the late 1980s, Dave threw himself head-first into the movement and at the turn of the 90s started a club night with best friend Alistair Cook in their home city of Leeds in the north of England. With its punk rock attitude, Back To Basics was an instant success. Tragically, Alistair was killed in a car crash in March 1993 but Dave decided to carry the club night forwards in his great pal’s memory.
 
It was the friendly, community feeling and hedonistic aesthetic that made Basics one of the success stories of the 1990s. Musically, the award-winning nights were on-point: they gave UK debuts to US DJs such as Danny Tenaglia, Derrick Carter and Francois K, early opportunities to Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx and Groove Armada, and helped nurture resident DJs such as Ralph Lawson, Denney, Paul Woolford, Tristan Da Cunha, James Holroyd, Huggy and Burnski. At the centre of the dancefloor madness was Dave Beer — the life and soul of the party, always thinking of others before himself.
 
Hosting a long-running party is a talent in itself. What a lot of people haven’t realised is that Dave also became a great DJ himself, an artist (the edgy Basics flyers were all his own work), a surrealist painter of some repute, and has dabbled in producing music himself over the years — releasing tracks under a number of different pseudonyms like The God Squad, Out Of Order, and, more recently, The Blessed. He also remixed giants such as David Bowie and the Rolling Stones over the years, as well as Afrika Bambaataa and Manchester indie band Intastella.
 
As Back To Basics’s 33rd birthday approached, Dave was diagnosed with cancer. While the cancer was cut out during an operation in early November, Dave had to be taken to intensive care to have a blood transfusion, but he ultimately rallied — it’s not the first time he’s dealt so closely with death. Now recuperated, it’s time to refocus on his music, putting himself squarely in the limelight to receive the plaudits he so heartily deserves.
 
As he convalesced in the hospital, Dave was truly moved by the literally thousands of well-wishers who sent him messages. “I’ve been blown away by the love, and empowered by it,” he says. “This is the real me now. It’s a new chapter, I’ve been feeling enlightened by it all. I’m a different person now — stripped bare, it’s the true me. As my new monk friend says: ’It’s only when the tide goes out that people can see you’re swimming naked.’  
 
Without the mask of intoxication, Dave is relishing this new chapter of his eventful life. “It’s taken all this time for me to escape being the prisoner of my own identity,” he says. “It’s hard to be taken seriously with my music, but I think the tunes speak for themselves. The album is honest in its innocence.”
 
Jack Said What co-founder Irvine Welsh has known Dave since the 90s, while other JSW cohorts Steve Mac and Carl Loben have also had long associations with the Basics man. When Dave said he wanted to send his album over, it was received at JSW HQ with some trepidation — in case it wasn’t up to scratch — but the guys needn’t have worried. The album is called ‘What Goes Around’, and a nice circular element to the relationship came when Jack Said What and Back To Basics jointly hosted a takeover of the main dance tent at Mucky Weekender in September 2024. Marshall Jefferson headlined, while Dave, Ralph Lawson and the whole JSW crew made it a night to remember.
 
And now for the music. The first single ‘For The Beloved’ has several iterations and, a few weeks later, will be followed by several remixes by house music pioneer Todd Terry. It’s a corking first package, a fine way to kick off a priority album campaign for 2025.
 
One of dance music’s true characters, and a fighter, this music by Dave Beer demands to be heard. Proper underground house music with an acid house attitude, Jack Said What is delighted to welcome another legend into the fold.

Electronic music visionary Matteo Milleri revealed his intentions to wrap up his ground-breaking Genesys project with a third album. The news arrives as the artist finishes his ground-breaking residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere, where he created history as the first electronic music resident following events like U2 and Dead & Co.
The announcement signals a turning point for Milleri’s Anyma project, which has stretched the limits between music, technology, and visual art. Milleri, standing in his Los Angeles house with his VR helmet on, frankly discussed the future while looking over visual material for his Sphere performances—a four to five-hour daily process as he reviews about twenty test visuals broadcast straight to his gadget.
“Human Now,” a piece bringing full circle the story of Eva, the AI creature Milleri created as an NFT in 2021 with visual co-creative director Alessio De Vecchi, will be the cornerstone of Anyma’s conclusion. “Eva is going to turn human to close the circle, and she’s going to be helped by a quantum being,” Milleri said, although he gently questioned the philosophical ramifications of such a change.
This third Genesys volume tracks its predecessors’ success, establishing Anyma as a trailblazer in melodic techno. From a digital art experiment to a stadium-filling phenomenon, the project’s development illustrates Milleri’s dedication to stretching creative boundaries—especially in the field of extended reality events.
The announcement comes amid Anyma’s innovative Sphere residency, which has already sold over 130,000 tickets across eight events. Featuring collaborations with artists including FKA Twigs, Empire of the Sun, Ellie Goulding, and Grimes, the residency highlights the trademark mix of melodic techno and modern graphics.
Milleri is already investigating new boundaries in quantum computers and quantum worlds, ideas that have started to show up in his latest performances, as he looks ahead. Still, he stresses the need to give the Genesys chapter a “glorified ending,” noting its vital part in his artistic growth.
“When ideas get recycled a bit too much, I’m the first person to wonder, what’s next?” Milleri muses about. “I wish to keep going ahead. But since it was such a significant component of my music and life, I want to present a very glorious finish for it.
