When parody meets protest, controversy is often not far behind, and a new parody site called "Spotify Unwrapped" has proven no exception after shutting down.
The site, which spoofed Spotify's beloved Wrapped feature, took a bold approach by calling attention to the stark imbalance between user subscription fees and royalties paid to artists.
The now-inaccessible website left behind a pointed message: "This site used to be a parody of Spotify Wrapped that called the company out for its predatory treatment of artists. It has been removed at the request of Spotify’s legal team."
The defunct page also directs visitors to the Union of Musicians and Allied Workers’ "Justice at Spotify" campaign, which advocates for higher per-stream payments and greater transparency in the music industry.
While initial reports suggested Spotify's legal team requested the site's removal, the streaming giant denied involvement and said it had taken no such action in a statement provided to NME. The takedown has nevertheless reignited debates around the platform's economics and pay disparity.
Despite the controversy, Spotify Wrapped remains a cultural touchstone, with millions sharing their stats online. However, the removal of "Spotify Unwrapped" highlights simmering deeper tensions in the industry and raises questions about how streaming services balance their ever-increasing cultural influence with fair compensation for artists.

When John Summit steps behind the decks at Shaq's Fun House, The Big Easy might just vibrate off the map. On February 7th, Mardi Gras World in New Orleans will morph into an all-night playground as Shaquille O’Neal's larger-than-life vision takes center stage on the eve of Super Bowl LIX.
The Super Bowl might be the main attraction, but Shaq’s Fun House ensures the party starts long before kickoff. And with Summit joining the festivities, this year’s installment promises to raise the bar on entertainment during Big Game Weekend. The house music superstar is joined on the bill by Ludacris as well as the father-and-son duo of Shaquille and Myles O'Neal.
Many are speculating that the event could be where Shaq, also known as DJ Diesel, and Summit finally meet behind the decks for a collaborative set. An exchange on X hinted at the possibility last fall.
While the NFL’s elite will take to the field on February 9th, the true MVP of the weekend might just be Shaq himself. His consistent ability to unite the worlds of sports and music has made the Fun House event a cornerstone of Super Bowl festivities year after year.
Much like its charismatic host, Shaq's Fun House is anything but ordinary. Part music festival, part carnival and part culinary delight, it’s a one-of-a-kind experience. For those seeking more than music, the lineup includes performance art, carnival games and a six-hour open bar, all wrapped in the vibrant energy of New Orleans.
Tickets to Shaq's Fun House go on sale Friday, December 13th at 10am CST.

One of the most famous cathedrals in the world reopened this past weekend. Millions of people tuned in to watch the reopening show of Notre-Dame in Paris. The cathedral sadly partially burnt down after a fire in 2019. The event helped people rediscover the cathedral’s unique architecture while spreading a message of inspiration, sharing, and celebration across the world.
Passionate about heritage and an ambassador for French electronic music, Michael Canitrot presented his latest compositions with digital art and light design. It gave Notre-Dame in a magnificent new light. He had this to say about the historical performance:
Through his ‘Monumental Tour’ concept, he fuses electronic music and heritage to offer unique immersive experiences. He thrilled audiences in iconic locations such as the Abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel, the top of the Eiffel Tower for Gustave Eiffel’s centenary, and most recently in front of the Basilica del Pilar in Zaragoza, where he drew a crowd of over 45,000. His art continues to make an impact around the world, with videos and social media broadcasts reaching tens of millions of views.

This year has been a magnificent year for Anyma, from announcing a residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas to Genesys II. The Italian producer and Afterlife label lead continuously to set the bar with incredible sounds and visuals that have changed the game within.

<\center>

This time, he masterfully mixed one of the alt-R&B singer FKA Twigs’ newest tracks ‘Eusexua’. Originally, the track is a homage to Belgian underground Techno, which inspired the artist for her upcoming project with the same title. Now, it truly becomes a staple of the genre alongside Matteo Milleri.
`Eusexua’ (Anyma Remix)
The track follows Twigs vocals along through a journey of self discovery and self exploration. The lyrics allude to a sense of fulfillment and this inexplicable. Anyma’s twist comes with a filthy bassline that brings out the meaning of each word to incredible detail. The groove is now turned to a euphoric and angelical drop, that reminds us of an Odesza synth. Funny enough, the tears just start to waterfall down your cheeks.

Twigs has definitely done her homework. The Grammy nominated artist from the UK names that her influence for this upcoming project lays in the underground in Belgium. Where she found healing in dark spaces and sexually liberating atmospheres. With this collaboration, we see her true potential within the underground, and welcome her with open arms. Sneakily, we also hope of more and more tracks that will have us happy crying in a warehouse at 4am.

FKA Twigs has been playing her cards right, nevertheless. Most recently, she performed at an underground event in LA. Moreover, it was hosted by an underground collective, which had a lineup of well known DJs in the Europe scene. One of the stand out names was Answer Code Request.

Anyma
Matteo Milleri will close out the year in a historic event at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The residency will run for a couple weeks and invited guests include Charlotte de Witte, Tiesto, Camelphat, Argy, and more.

We can call it love, this is ‘Eusexua’ (Anyma Remix).

The Zing Out now! Listen Here
Mad House Creations’ new single, The Zing, recently signed by LVLD Music, captures an electrifying, spontaneous energy that would fill any club dancefloor, crafted entirely in the artist’s home studio on Logic Pro X. With no templates in sight, each element was built from scratch, giving the track an organic, mood-driven quality. Reflecting MHC’s knack for producing uplifting, energetic beats, The Zing takes listeners on an imaginative journey aboard a ‘futuristic spacecraft propelled by mysterious forces.’ Its zingy plucks, cinematic “Hans Zimmer on acid” style leads, and rich layers create an immersive soundscape, blending intensity with an intriguing hint of emotion. As a solo project, The Zing, made possible by LFTD Global, shows MHC’s versatile and immense skill set, perfectly setting the stage for future collaborations to bring even more dimensions to his music.
Mad House Creations, also known as MHC, was founded in 2014 when a lifelong love for trance and house music sparked the desire to dive into music production. Inspired by the legendary BBC Radio 1 Trance shows of the 2000s with Judge Jules, MHC’s journey began in the modest setting of a bedroom studio in “The Mad House” – a lively, family home that became the namesake for this creative project. Starting from scratch, MHC self-taught himself, quickly building momentum with a first release on a small Swiss label in 2015. By 2017, MHC had produced a steady stream of 16 releases, gaining traction across digital platforms and developing a diverse discography. The breakthrough year was 2020, when Dynamo dropped on MHC’s birthday, racking up over 34,000 plays on Spotify and an impressive 380,000 streams on other platforms. The most recent release, Trancendence, launched in 2022 with Mojoheadz Records, showcasing MHC’s evolving style across trance, progressive house, and techno – certainly not an artist to miss out on for any house fan.
Getting to know Mad House Creations

Introduce yourself and your project
Hey all, I’m Mad House Creations, I started creating music about 10 years ago which eventually turned into a hobby. The Mad House Creations Project was started in a family home back in early 2014, which
gave the brand its name. I now operate a bedroom studio on the Isle of Wight, UK. I released my first
track a year later on a small record label known as 5howtime Music in Switzerland along with 10 further
releases on their sub label Matrix Music Records for 3 consecutive years. I then hit the road as an
independent artist from that point, and started releasing music myself. Dynamo, my most recent success,
had stacked up the most plays in our history. Our earlier release Trancendence was released on
Mojoheadz Records in 2022.
The Zing released on LVLD Music on behalf of LFTD Global is a different composition to what we have
transformed into over the years, as have been writing a lot of trance music recently. This was the end goal
for Mad House Creations overall. I feel the release follows suit of my older compositions which were very
pluck intensive, the difference is the quality and clarity of the track itself, which shows how far we have
progressed.
Explain what musical genre fits you best?
As an artist, I tend to aim for trance as my main genre, however there are times when I compose on an
out of the box experimental basis. Some of these genres can be a mixture or as a single genre of any of
the following: Trance, House, Progressive House and/or Techno. This shows out diversity in sound and
genre.
Were you connected with music from a young age and did anyone inspire you?
From a young age, I was into rock music, although have always liked a huge diverse range of music,
including classical. I took keyboard lessons at school and turned into quite the pianist. Later on my focus
on music transformed, and started to listen to the Legendary BBC1 show where Judge Jules would play
the best in Trance and Techno every Friday Night. This was a turning point and is probably why I love
some EDM genres today.

What kickstarted your music career?
I will be honest here, It was just a random idea which I didn’t think would take off. In 2014, I was listening
to some trance one day, and the idea just popped into my head. So I got a DAW, and started learning
from scratch, watched tutorials on You Tube and started to create some music. Sometimes these random
ideas, can be a godsend. Well, this one was as I am still making music 10 years later.
Tell us more about your sound and how it’s evolved over time.
I would say I tend to try and keep my compositions as energetic and uplifting as possible with a hint of
emotion. But overall I’ve tried to concentrate on the quality and clarity of my sound, which has gotten
much better over the years.
Any words you want to share to encourage other artists or producers?
My advice would be, don’t give up after the first sign of rejection, keep creating music, keep sending
demo’s, get your music heard. The more you push your music to labels, blogs, playlisters, etc., the more
likely you will get these contacts to accept your submissions. But most importantly, create good music.
How do you nurture your industry relationships?
I try to engage with fans, most of my contact with fans is through Sound Cloud, although I do have a
small social media following, The trouble I find, is when releases go live is getting ideas for content. I
do however have contacts I’m in constant contact with on a music perspective.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank that’s been crucial to your journey?
I would like to thank a friend of mine that has been advising me on how to improve my productions
further, he has been a great help and as a result, the sound today is improving astronomically.
Name 3 songs you love and what they mean to you.
Sean Tyas & Darren Porter – The Potion (Extended Mix) FSOE

The reason I love this track is that it is very powerful. It has a diverse sound range and portrays a huge array of emotions. I find this to be a very motivational track.
Driftmoon – Waves (Extended Mix) Black Hole Rec

This track was one of the best tracks of 2016, it showed a vast improvement in trance as a whole. Its peak-time rifts were captivating to say the least.
Martin Garix & MOTi – Virus (How About Now)

Now one track I love in the Progressive House Scene from back in the day is: Martin Garirix & MOTi – Virus (How About Now) Spinnin’ Records – I found this track rather catchy back in the day, is more of one of them “make you feel better tracks” as things are not as bad as they seem sometimes.
What’s your favourite piece of studio equipment or software?
I tend to use Logic Pro X as my base DAW however I do have a few VST synths and plugins. I think my
favourite plugins are from the Native Instruments Komplete Ultimate Collectors Edition. Ive been
using NI Massive and NI Kontakt more these days, as found the diversity in sound is much more than
what I had with Sylenth1.
Name your favourite club or festival and how it makes you feel.
Ive only really been to one real club, and thats the Iconic Minerstry of Sound: Gallery Club in London.
Although I used to work for a small Nightclub on the Isle of Wight called The Balcony. I love the Gallery
club, its atmosphere is warm and its well presented.
Name an outlandish rider request?
My outlandish rider request would be directions to the nearest AA Meeting (so I can get a dose of
recovery before a show), no caffeine to be available back stage or in sight, and a steak dinner ready for
me on arrival served blue with mustard and spicy peppercorn sauce and a dollop of BBQ Sauce served in
a large ornate bowl.
Favourite clubbing memory and who or what did it involve?
I think my favourite memory was when I went up to London to support a former friend doing a set at the
Gallery Club. His DJ name was Trancelucid.
What famous quote represents you best?
As Winston Churchill once said “Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that
counts”
If you could play at any venue, where would it be and why?
I would have to still stick with The Gallery on this one, as haven’t really ventured out to other venues yet.
Although would settle for a smaller venue.
Music is….. (explain more)
Music is a journey of emotion. It can portray many emotions and make you feel sad, happy or fit a certain
mood you’re looking for. For me music is my life, I have no commitments at the moment, so is a better
way to be spending my time putting creativity to use.
One song you really couldn’t live without and why?
To be honest I’m not sure I have a track that I cannot live without as tend to like most music in a genre
context. However I would probably say Everlight – Renegade Bass or Dominant Space – XTC are
tracks close to this classification.
Namedrop your favourite 5 artists or DJs (past or present)
Sean Tyas
Greg Downey
John Askew
Armin Van Buuren
Cosmic Gate

What was your first music memory and how did it fuel your fire?
My first memory of music which I can remember was System F – Out of The Blue. I found that this track
was the starting point to my EDM journey, and allowed me to explore further within the genre. I was quite
a latecomer when it came to exploring music, however I adapted fast to the changing trends quickly.
Tell us more about your plans for the future.
I am Currently working with another Label to get my next release down for pre-release. This will hopefully
mean a 2 track EP will be on its way out soonish. Trance Project 61 is practically finished and will be forwarding this for demo soon. And many more unreleased tracks are nearing completion. Not sure I’m
ready for touring yet, but will continue to put mixes up on Mixcloud as much as I can.
Any worldly advice you’d like to share?
Don’t let yourself get consumed by the party. Being in recovery, I have learned that the hard way. Drugs
and Alcohol eventually leads to addiction, addiction destroys careers and interpersonal relationships.

Poni explores existence's darkest corners and brings them to light in her pensive new EP, Hellscape.
Out now via Rezz's HypnoVizion imprint, the three-track EP is Poni's second of the year and follows the February release of her debut, Powerless. Replete with dark, entrancing beats, it explores themes of torment and resignation through alluring and skillful sound design.
"Leeches" with Satin Puppets opens the EP on an eerie note as a siren-like voice draws us in. The vocals then switch to grating and graphic before a symphonic drop bursts with the intent of dragging us right down into Poni's Hellscape. Once we've entered, she makes her intentions clear with "Leave You In The Dark," a track that hypnotizes with alluring vocals by Notelle and a bold, stomping beat.

"Conceptual Reality" then closes out the EP on a spectacular note as Poni makes her vocal debut. Considering the thought of Hellscape's darkness being her new reality, she turns heel on the EP's earlier hopelessness and channels it into power.

Party Favor knows how to leave a lasting impression.
With his new EP, The Party Never Dies, the trailblazing DJ and producer is bowing out of his solo endeavors as Party Favor for the foreseeable future. After 13 years, he's released his final body of work, a project brimming with the same passion, creativity and chaos that has defined his career.
To commemorate the release, Party Favor has shared an "honorary funeral music video" featuring over 20 artists, including Dillon Francis, A-Trak, AC Slater, Valentino Khan and more.
"This EP is very special and bittersweet for me because it’s the end of a chapter," Party Favor said in a statement shared with EDM.com. "The Party Never Dies concept with something that I came up with actually a long time ago very early on in my career. It was the idea that when we sleep, the music lives on, and I wanted to convey that sense of euphoria and fun in the music from the beginning.
"This EP to me is a collection of just plain fun pieces of dance music that represent different parts of my journey as PF. And, now that we are at the end of my era, the party will continue, but it will never die."
Across seven tracks, The Party Never Dies feels like the distilled essence of Party Favor’s journey, a space where chaos and beauty coexist. While fans may feel bittersweet about it being his final project, it’s clear he's ending on a high note with a body of work that celebrates the versatility that has always been his trademark.
From its opening moments, The Party Never Dies sets a hypnotic tone. Despite its title's suggestion of monotony, this ominous, trap-laden track is anything but routine. Layers of sub bass and shadowy vocals wrap around a thundering cadence, creating a track that feels like a descent into an exhilarating underworld—the sound of the producer refusing to go quietly into the night.
In "Body," a collaboration with Whethan and Katy Tiz, deadpan vocals slice through grinding basslines like a blade. It's an unapologetic dance floor dominator, a call to surrender your inhibitions and let the music take control. With relentless trap rhythms and gritty textures, this track epitomizes the unfiltered boldness that Party Favor has championed with consistency. Then there’s "Ur Love," a radiant burst of emotional release that highlights his tonal versatility through uplifting house rhythms and vocal chops.

From the people behind the accessible, but raucous, Digbeth party hotspot of over 8 years, Mama Roux’s… Club Colette is located right next door, but promises something wildly different. Whilst Mama focuses on in-your-face entertainment and confetti drops, merging electronic and live music, Club Colette is there to strip it all back and go back to basics, putting the DJ, intimacy, and the sound quality – front and centre, and putting culture first. Something its founders have said has been stripped away from Digbeth in recent years.Located on one of Digbeth’s most well known nightlife streets, the new Lower Trinity Street club is split across two rooms. Its main space features a unique tiered design for elevated dancing, wrapped around the meaty DJ booth.Benjy Hill says: “Room 2 is the smallest in the city – something we’re proud of, in a converted, abandoned fried chicken shop. The two rooms are linked by a terrace under the iconic Victorian viaducts with plans for summer day parties from local and international brands.
In an era where venues and events seem to be growing bigger and bigger – and there’s of course a place for this, we’re focusing on getting the little details right and bringing the artists headlining these mega venues back directly in front of the types of crowds that helped them learn their craft with support from our residents. Whilst there will be some of the world’s most underground acts and brands gracing this intimate and sweaty space, there will be real emphasis on our residents that has lost its place in today’s rave. Our motive is clear: bring back what has been lost.”From March 1st, Saturday’s guests will be hand picked from a host of prolific international electronic DJs from the house and techno world whilst the Chicken Shop will help support many sub genres.
Friday’s programming is geared towards supporting up and coming artists from a broader range of genres, including Hip Hop, UK Garage, Amapiano and Liquid DNB.
Benjy says “It was always our long term ambition to get our hands on all five railway arches at the foot of Lower Trinity Street, and with the re-introduction of food in 2025, we are proud to be creating a real exciting cultural destination, there really is now something for everyone”.
Club Colette opens for a sneak preview of what’s to come on the 14th December for a daytime party with Italian brand After Caposile and Birmingham based CNTRL, featuring headline guests Kepler and Francesco Maddalena, playing alongside residents Lopaski, Mizo, Mark Birch, Alexander M, and HP3, Ning-Ning Li, Jon Morris and more in Chicken Shop.
