New Avicii Documentary “Avicii – I’m Tim” explores the life of the Electronic Dance Music Legend

The 2024 Tribeca Film Festival will take place June 5-16, in New York City.

Organizers have recently unveiled this year’s lineup, which offers a diverse selection of films. While you can still enjoy foreign films and other niche genres, electronic music fans are in for a treat. Among the featured films is the world premiere of Avicii – I’m Tim, a documentary directed by Henrik Burman.

“Before there was Avicii, there was just Tim. For the first time through his own words, witness the journey of a shy but prodigious musical talent who would soon become one of the defining artists of his generation.”

According to Billboard, the documentary will bring fans never-before-seen interviews with David Guetta and Avicii’s former collaborator, Chris Martin of Coldplay. Accompanied by a collection of photographs capturing a young Avicii, the film delves into the early life of the man who would later become one of EDM’s biggest stars, tragically cut short by suicide.

“Tim was a seeker, a sensitive and a shy person who wanted to know the truth and find ways to an inner peace, he reacted to the injustices of the world and cared deeply about the planet. Yet it was in his music that he expressed himself, honestly and openly, and it gave him the most joy… the creative process and collaborations with the people he loved and respected for their art and talent.” – Tim Bergling Foundation

While we all know and love Tim’s music, you can be sure to enjoy and appreciate it a bit more with this documentary.
