GRAMMY-winning electronic music group RüfüS Du Sol has announced a one-night-only DJ set at the legendary Hollywood Palladium on March 6th. Produced by Live Nation, this special event will generate essential money for the CCF Wildfire Recovery Fund to help Los Angeles County towns hit by recent disasters. The evening promises to be more than simply a performance; it will be a potent statement of community resilience and hope since 100% of ticket sales go to the cause.
What happened and why this event
Recent memory has seen California experience one of its most horrific wildfire seasons. Wildfires in Los Angeles County as of January 17 had claimed 24 lives, uprooted over 180,000 people, and wrecked thousands of businesses and residences. For Angelenos, the effect has been rather intimate, touching families, communities, and friendships.
The sincere response of RüfüS Du Sol is typical of the will of the larger society. “Our hearts are with all of our fellow Angelenos who have been touched by these catastrophic wildfires,” the band said in a statement. “While directly supporting efforts at rebuilding, we hope this event offers a feeling of connection and hope.”
Renowned for writing expressive, dancefloor-ready songs, the band has enthralled audiences all across with their five studio albums—including their most recent, Inhale / Exhale. Their DJ sets have evolved into a revered extension of their sound, fusing the expressive depth listeners have come to appreciate with flawless mixing.
Tickets for the concert went on sale January 23 at 10 a.m. PT via Ticketmaster and rapidly sold out, a monument to the band’s ongoing appeal and the public’s enthusiasm to help a cause this important. The event is using Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange to guarantee fairness by allowing attendees to resell tickets at their original purchase price, therefore maintaining the event accessible and stopping abuse.
CCF Wildfire Recovery Fund
Event earnings will go straight to the California Community Foundation (CCF) Wildfire Recovery Fund. Managing $2.3 billion in assets and supervising almost 2,000 charitable foundations and funds, CCF has been leading the front in systematic transformation in Los Angeles County since 1915.
Based on channeling approximately $30 million since 2003 to areas affected by wildfires, the Wildfire Recovery Fund is a pillar of CCF’s catastrophe response. From quick relief to long-term recovery, the fund supports infrastructure repair, mental health services, and housing, giving underprivileged areas top priority via alliances with nearby businesses and governmental institutions. Following LA’s most recent wildfires, CCF has already given funds totaling $15 million to more than 100 organizations in areas such as Pasadena, and the Palisades.
Together, via music and group action, we can help Los Angeles regain its vigor and energy.
