Marc Romboy and An On Bast, both part of the Awesome Soundwave family, connected during several electrifying label showcases hosted by the legendary Carl Cox. Their shared passion for spontaneous creativity led them to embark on a series of jam sessions, purely for the joy of making music together.
With no specific goals in mind other than having fun, An On Bast and Marc Romboy met twice in his studio, diving into freeform jams with drum machines and modular systems. The result? Two captivating tracks: “Spielfreude” and “Wanderlust.” These tracks, born from pure improvisation, are packed with dynamic twists and rich soundscapes, embodying the true spirit of experimental techno.
“Twiddling the knobs like crazy” was their mantra, and it paid off. Both tracks flow effortlessly yet are full of unexpected turns, making them stand out in a sea of monotonous releases.
Released on Marotopia, the new label by Robert Babicz and Marc Romboy, this EP marks the second release following the debut “Modular Friends” by Marc Romboy & Robert Babicz.
