If you can't get a crowd to show up for your LEGO DJ performance, you can always just build one.

A new design on LEGO's "Ideas" platform, which allows consumers to submit ideas for LEGO products to be turned into sets available commercially, has been making noise with music lovers who have a fondness for little plastic bricks. One user has created a functional replica of the Technics SL-1200 MK2 Turntable so you can cut and scratch using the power of LEGO bricks.

Builders can upload their creations to the crowdsourcing platform, where the submission can then be voted on by users. If their design amasses 10,000 votes, it will then be reviewed by LEGO staff, who will determine if it should become an official set.

Created by Tomasso, the Technics turntable recreation contains realistic features like a needle, adjustable pitch control, and a 45 RPM adapter. He used 2,215 blocks to achieve the build.

This is not the first time Tomasso has shared a DJ-related LEGO set with the world. Last year, he started a campaign for a Pioneer DJ CDJ-2000 Nexus build, which has since reached the necessary 10,000 votes and will be reviewed by LEGO's designers in September 2024. Considering that success , it seems likely his take on Technics will reach the same fate.

You can support the project on the official LEGO Ideas page.
