Fresh updates from Kendal Calling reveal the addition of over 50 acts to the dazzling 2024 lineup, featuring artists like Lucy Spraggan, Charlotte Plank, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, A Certain Ratio, Sugababes, The Snuts, Feeder, Bilk, ADMT, Alfie Jukes, Future Utopia, HotWax, and many others.
This comprises headlining stars on the main stage, the largest-ever Kendal Calling lineup at Tim Peaks, fresh talents from the forefront of new music at Calling Out, vibrant world music performances by Chai Wallahs, and hilarious comedy acts at The Soapbox.
Described as ‘the mini-Glastonbury of the North’ by some, Kendal Calling features headlining performances this year from five must-see acts: Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Paolo Nutini, The Streets, Paul Heaton with guest singer Rianne Downey, and Keane, alongside a diverse lineup of hundreds of other artists for festival attendees to enjoy.

Over four days, forty thousand festival goers will gather once again in the fields as Kendal Calling transforms into Cumbria’s third largest town. The ultimate festival gathering, Kendal Calling is filled with otherworldly entertainment and escapism designed to intrigue, surprise and entertain all ages. Lucy Spraggan joins the Kendal Calling lineup, marking her highly anticipated return with the release of her latest album last August. Also included are Charlotte Plank, known for recent collaborations with Rudimental and Turno and praised by NME and Zane Lowe. Additional acts like Sugababes, The Snuts, Feeder, and British youth counterculture rockers Bilk will be performing. ADMT, creator of the hit “Midas Touch,” Alfie Jukes with his single “Eyes Wide” released in January, along with Future Utopia and teen punk powerhouse HotWax, are set to grace the Fields stage.
Kendal Calling isn’t complete without Tim Burgess’ renowned Tim Peaks Diner, showcasing legendary sets and exceptional coffee. Today, Tim Peaks unveils its impressive lineup, promising even more excitement. Alongside anticipated secret performances, festival-goers can expect surprises until the reveal. This summer, A Certain Ratio will perform live at the Diner, with their set swiftly transferred to vinyl for purchase at Kendal Calling’s Sunday event. Fans can even get their albums signed by the band, who express their enthusiasm for this opportunity at Tim Peaks Diner.

Having received his Fellowship at The Royal Northern College of Music in November, Tim Burgess will be collaborating with the Session Orchestra for a one off performance alongside Dexys Midnight Runners legend Helen O’Hara. Elsewhere across the weekend at everyone’s favourite Diner, Dave Haslam will be hosting two book events as well as one of his legendary DJ sets on the Friday night which is not to be missed. Two Headed Horse, who have been involved in the Help Us Help Us Bands project will be performing at Tim Peaks, as well as Leeds rockers Ultimate Thunder whose story with Tim Burgess was covered by the press globally. Chris Hawkins will be bringing Names In Songs to life for the first time at a festival as part of his Tim Peaks FM show on Saturday. And there is much, much more still to come.

Antony Szmeriek, BBY, Lauren Hibberd, and Felix White’s latest endeavor, 86TVs, are also set to perform.”

Chai Wallahs, a distinctive touring venue, has made its return, solidifying its reputation as the ultimate hub for world music, jazz, hip hop, reggae, funk, and soul enthusiasts. For more than 15 years, Chai Wallahs has been a melting pot of diverse musical genres, creating unforgettable experiences where global sounds converge. This season, Chai Wallahs will showcase an impressive lineup of performers guaranteed to captivate audiences. Headlining this event is Tom McGuire & The Brassholes, an acclaimed 8-piece soul/funk group from Glasgow known for their infectious energy on stage. Also gracing the venue is Omega Nebula, bringing their spirited reggae rhythms and powerful basslines, promising an electrifying show that will move the crowd. Alongside these acts, Chai Wallahs will feature a range of talented bands and artists from around the world, such as The Allergies Live, Dr Meaker, and Jamu, establishing itself as a must-visit destination for exceptional global music, complemented by delectable pizza and a vibrant atmosphere.
