Vietnam just set a Guinness World Record on April 28th, 2025.
A beautiful display utilizing 10,518 drones all happened in Ho Chi Minh City. The drone light show was for the 50th anniversary celebration of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
“Largest drone light show by number of drones flying simultaneously” was the official record, Guinness-certified during a practice rehearsal that was completed two days before the actual event. And what’s crazy is that the planned event was for April 30th, which was soon cancelled after the practice performance due to removing the ads that may have caused issues with the drone choreography, resulting in collisions. Even though the show had its setbacks, the drones formed a number of images, such as national emblems, historical scenes, and city skylines
DAMODA, a Chinese company known globally for large-scale aerial displays, enhanced the drone’s performance. It was designed in close cooperation with the show’s Vietnamese organizers. DAMODA stated that its drones functioned reliably during performances, despite heat and signal interference. The company claims to have conducted over 10,000 performances to date without any accidents, achieving a reliability rate of 99.999%.
