The pulsating heart of Downtown Miami became the epicenter of electronic music history as AFROJACK orchestrated what can only be described as a watershed moment in festival culture. On Ultra Music Festival’s milestone 25th anniversary, the GRAMMY Award-winning producer unleashed the unthinkable – the first-ever joint performance of “Titanium” with David Guetta and Sia, transforming a decade-long musical fantasy into electrifying reality.

Since it came out in 2011, “Titanium” has become one of the most famous and enduring anthems of the 21st century, with over 4 billion streams around the world and a lasting impact on both pop and dance music culture. It had been planned for more than ten years, but AFROJACK, David Guetta, and Sia had never performed their famous song together on stage until Ultra’s 25th anniversary party. It was the right place for this once-in-a-generation musical event.

“Titanium” soared from Ultra’s Main Stage through the Downtown Miami night as AFROJACK, David Guetta, and Sia performed the emotional high points of their hit record together. The performance captivated the sold-out festival crowd as well as millions of fans around the world who watched on Ultra’s cutting-edge #ULTRALIVE broadcast on UMF TV.

As AFROJACK’s set was almost over, he teased a surprise guest appearance by dropping David Guetta’s hit duet with Akon, “Sexy Bitch” (also written as “Sexy Chick”). It was a subtle hint at what was to come.

As soon as Guetta walked out on stage, the crowd went wild. He warmly called AFROJACK his “little brother” and talked about how he signed AFROJACK when he was still a young artist. He also talked about how he turned to AFROJACK to help him get past an artistic problem that came up while making “Titanium.”

Then the spotlight moved to Sia, who came out wearing a custom Dolce & Gabbana and her signature wig. She gave a transcendent vocal performance that marked her historic first-ever appearance at an electronic music festival. Ultra, with its unmatched history of groundbreaking performances, could have planned such an important moment.

David Guetta and Sia performed their new song “Beautiful People,” which came out earlier this month. AFROJACK also performed his new track “Never Forget You,” which is a return to his old sound as a tribute to his fans from the beginning.

Ultra’s 25-year history as the leader of never-before-seen, history-making events that go beyond electronic music and change the larger cultural scene is summed up by the “Titanium” surprise performance.

From the emotional nostalgia of “Titanium” to the cutting-edge sounds of “Beautiful People,” AFROJACK’s headline set proved once again that Ultra is the world’s premier music festival where history is made.
