Hannes Bieger Galaxies album

Hannes Bieger‘s new record, Galaxies, was made during a time of change. The skilled producer has used his experience to create a wonderful collection of music. In this new album, Hannes takes the listener on a journey through space with nine powerful beats. Galaxies captures the wonder and mystery of the space beyond our small world. In addition to his amazing solo work, Hannes also collaborates with two vocalists, FEY and Walead, on the record.

Black Hole

Based on Hannes’ experience as a live performer, engineer, and producer, Galaxies has been arranged thoughtfully, starting with slower, rhythmic tracks and gradually moving to more intense songs at the end. It also includes his popular song ‘Black Hole‘, which is important to his career because it inspired his label Elektrons, where Galaxies is being released.

The record was created a few years after Hannes started using a new studio. After struggling with a lack of creativity and not knowing how to approach his music, he wrote most of the record at the start of 2023. By then, he had adjusted to his new environment and felt confident enough to express himself freely. He is making music without any specific goals, free from the pressure of choosing a genre, in a place that feels like the best workspace he has ever had. The right elements for imagination to thrive and for new ideas to develop.

During this time, ‘Black Hole‘ became an important moment for Hannes. The track received a great reaction every time he played it and gained a lot of attention on his social media. This led to the start of his own label, Elektrons, and helped define Hannes’ style, which combines melodic sounds with stronger rhythms. ‘Black Hole’ is joined by eight other productions on Galaxies, each one symbolic of the album’s theme.

Hannes Bieger interview

What connects everything in the universe?

Like many people, Hannes is curious about our existence and the world beyond Earth. Galaxies relate to important questions in science, especially the question, “What connects everything in the universe?” For Hannes, it’s not about matter or antimatter; it’s the human experience and, ultimately, love that connects us all.

This is especially important for the main song, ‘Hawa.’ The title means “Love,” and Walead’s moving words celebrate the strong influence of love. In this strong song, Hannes mixes energetic drum beats with an exciting tune. Moroccan singer Walead’s voice adds a lot of feeling to this song. His Sufi background and distinct style are important parts of this well-made electronic music piece.

The rest of the record also shows this theme and Hannes’ skill in mixing the lively sounds of techno with the emotional beats of melody. The first track, ‘Apollo,’ gives us a calming journey through the stars and beyond. “Meteor” uses captivating synth sounds that make you feel like you’re traveling through space. Calm but powerful, it perfectly captures the feeling of a space journey. “Stardust” lives up to its name, with FEY’s singing adding strong feelings to the lively music, creating a happy vibe. The Icelandic singer has a gentle, beautiful voice that gives the song a magical feel. The final song, “Voyager,” creates a thoughtful mood with its serious tone. Where are we headed? What happens next? Questions to think about as Hannes’s beautiful music plays steadily and thoughtfully.

Hannes creates music that is always easy to dance to and full of feeling. His carefully made tracks take us to an exciting world full of mysteries and the unknown.
