The sixth installment of Amelie Lens‘s popular collection series, VA006, is now available. It features some of the best techno artists. It will be available everywhere on March 28th through EXHALE.
EXHALE is a dynamic community-driven label, platform, and high-energy event series that connects DIY warehouse culture with mainstage sounds. It is powered by the future sounds of underground techno and driven by a love of rigorous rave culture. EXHALE got its start on the famous dance floor at Hasselt’s Labyrinth Club, where Amelie Lens was a resident at the time and put together sets with artists like Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Ellen Allien, Rødhåd, and Kobosil.
EXHALE now
Now Amelie has brought EXHALE to some of the best dance floors in the world. From mind-blowing shows at London’s Drumsheds, fabric, and Shelter Amsterdam to amazing dates in New York, Paris, Beirut, and Istanbul, EXHALE has become a name that people associate with cutting-edge music and lively club culture. The brand has also taken over huge festival stages at Awakenings ADE, Creamfields UK, and Tomorrowland, where EXHALE will be back in July to do it all again. A lot of big techno names will be playing with Amelie, such as Airod, Aaron Hibell, Até & Salin, Ampe, Funk Tribu, and an exciting b2b set from SPFDJ and VTSS.
EXHALE is a platform for great new artists to get their start. It brings together up-and-coming artists with big names from around the world, and each brings something special to the table while sharing a vision of electronic music that pushes the limits and looks to the future. This is the sixth edition of EXHALE’s famous collection series. It is a great example of everything the label stands for.
“I am so so happy to finally release these amazing tracks! I’ve collected this incredible music from artists that I really believe in over the past few months and have been playing it in my sets on stages all around the world, so it was really about time to share it ahead of the summer”. – Amelie Lens
EXHALE releases Various Artists Compilation 6 VA006
VA006 is a blistering tour de force of razor-sharp talent and cutting-edge techno. It has fifteen songs. The first track, “Nobody” by Argentine producer SAILO, starts things off nicely with icy vocals over his usual punishing beats. Next, “Rave Dance Drink” by French artist and co-founder of Reborn Events, Uphoria, takes us to rave. STORM, a 19-year-old Dutch hard techno producer, serves up thunderous bass, haunting synths, and electrifying drops on ‘Hypnotizee.’ Next up is Noemi Black, a DJ and producer from Poland whose track ‘Lost In Sound’ combines transcendent rave energy with obliterating bass. German producer AKKI is one of the most famous new artists of the past few years, and for good reason. On “Lost In Time,” he delivers huge peak-time techno mixed with chilling choirs and a moving string section.
Rotterdam’s IOSIO takes the stage for track six with his signature bouncy sound. “Echoes Of Heaven” is a bouncy sound treat, full of groove and pump. 2HOT2PLAY work with artist Linds from Poland to make the catchy trance-infused techno track “Type Of Beat.” Next up is new Italian producer Flour, whose trancey hard techno style goes full speed on “Galattica.” “Acid All Night Long” by Brazilian artist Molothav has harsh beats, ravey acid, and clear instructions to “dance all night.” “Mess” by Até & Salin is an irresistibly energetic call to arms, with cheeky vocals and metallic synth stabs jumping over driving rhythms.
The last third is led by “I’ll Take You Higher” by Neapolitan producer Lowerzone. It starts with strong rave stabs that take listeners to the heart of the rave. Next up are two UK acts. Alex Farell, from Liverpool, brings his signature high-octane beats to a deliciously stark soundscape with “Move Your Body,” and GALLØ, from Scotland, has an atmospheric cut called “Mantra” that balances things out. Onelas, boss of the Oiz Records label, makes his debut with the pulsing “Summer Walker.” Amstra & Sosya, a pair with many talents, closes out VA006 with the transcendent peak time chugger “Take Me Down.”
