Glastonbury-born brothers Speakman continue to hone their future-faring new sound on ‘Infinity’, the third single and title track from their forthcoming EP dropping later this month.

Out on 4th April, ‘Infinity’ sees the duo crafting one of their biggest sounding tracks to date taking in syncopated breaks, dreamy trance melodies, UK bass heavy & future house sounds and layering a widescreen, ethereal dreamy vocal and soaring trance-inducing lead synth melodies to spine-tingling effect.

Bridging the memories of Speakman’s past with the sounds of their future, ‘Infinity’ is simultaneously a euphoric, futuristic soundscape and post-rave anthem in the making – born out of the duo’s love for sci-fi literature and films – and the ideal backdrop to a muddy field rave or life-affirming festival moment. As Speakman describes it, “it’s a 3am tune, the bonfire and hay-barrels are drenched with the first drops of morning due, the tent is hazy and shaking under the vibration of a massive sound system…”

The track melds  the classic UK dance sound of the Free Party movement, a big influence on the duo’s Somerset upbringing, bringing a modern post-rave sound that will resonate with  contemporary electronic music fans;

“We wanted to explore the dance music of our shared childhood growing up immersed in UK festivals and Free Rave culture, as well as the numerous directions dance music has taken over the years”, they said.

‘Infinity’ will appear on the duo’s upcoming EP out on April 19th, alongside last month’s ‘Lose Our Way’, and last year’s acclaimed single ‘IG.LU’, which hit the No.1 spot on the Beatport electronica hype charts.  They have received DJ support from the likes of Keinemusik, John Digweed, Joris Voorn, George Fitzgerald, Anthony Pappa, Just Her, HAAi, Sasha, UNKLE, Nick Warren, Marsh, Four Tet, Jody Wisternoff (Anjunabeats), Luke Garcia, Pete Tong, and Joseph Capriati among many others.

It’s been a strong return for the duo after a hiatus since pre-COVID times when they first made their name with a series of singles and appearances at several UK festivals including Glastonbury. The electronic music duo have been very selective with what they release, with only a select handful of singles and remixes getting officially released since first emerging five years ago.

Speakman’s music has already amassed millions of listeners and strong streaming and radio success for a new artist, as well as critical acclaim and support from the likes of Lauren Laverne, Clash, Dave Roundtree, Huw Stephens and Jamz Supernova, and ‘Babamimoun’ received coveted BBC Radio 1 plays by Danny Howard and Pete Tong.

An epic cinematic journey through a nostalgic yet forward-thinking world of drum and synth textures, ‘Infinity’ is a prime exhibition of Speakman’s widescreen new sound. Stay tuned for the full EP, out on April 19th.
