Los Angeles-based duo NIIKO X SWAE are back, and they’re paying homage to their roots with their latest single, ‘Drop It Low.’ This electrifying house banger, released via Dim Mak, is a testament to their playful spirit and deep-rooted love for the sounds that shaped their youth.
‘Drop It Low’ transports listeners straight to the sweaty, vibrant energy of a 90s basement rave. The track pulsates with a funked-out groove, driven by an acid-inspired bassline that cuts through the mix like a laser beam. A resonating lead pluck adds a layer of melodic depth, while a party-starting pitched vocal injects a dose of rejuvenating fun.
Drawing inspiration from their 90s childhood, NIIKO X SWAE are embracing a nostalgic theme that will permeate their upcoming Dim Mak singles. The accompanying visuals for ‘Drop It Low’ further solidify this retro aesthetic, featuring an 8mm look that vividly brings the track’s artwork to life. A real NXS-branded yo-yo, a quintessential Y2K toy, makes a cameo, adding a touch of authentic childhood charm.
