John Summit is having a huge 2025 already, and now, he’s gracing the cover of Billboard with a feature interview. John Summit is a 30-year-old Illinois native who has achieved massive success in the world of dance music in the last five years. Summit and his team have pulled off the rarest feat of them all: being a hard-ticket DJ who has his signature sound, massive worldwide hits, and has collected an intergenerational fanbase.
Summit released his first track in 2017, and by 2020, he committed to moving to Miami to chase his DJ dream. He expressed that his life has been crazy, being able to travel the whole world, experiencing many adventures and late nights, and making good decisions while getting into some bad situations. But even though his DJ life is chaotic and ever-changing, when he goes home, everything is the same.
He compares going to his hometown of Naperville, Illinois to the end of The Lord of the Rings, when Frodo Baggins returns to the Shire after giving up everything he knows and risking his life to destroy the Ring, just to find that while his homeland is the same as when he left it, only he was transformed by the quest.
Becoming a superstar has impacted his personal life. His previous social media posts used to highlight only all his drunken shenanigans, but now, we see a new version of Summit—one that’s more enlightened and takes care of his body and personal growth. He posts about exercising, yoga, and getting regular sleep.
Don’t miss out on John Summit’s performances this summer. He will be headlining at Movement Festival, Lightning in a Bottle, and Bonnaroo. You’ll also be able to find him performing in Ibiza, Europe, and Australia. If you want to dive into the entire interview with John Summit, click here to get all the John Summit details.
