[EDMTunes] GENESI & MEDUZA Drop Powerful New EP ‘Freak’

GENESI and MEDUZA have teamed up to deliver a new collaborative EP titled “Freak“, a collection of three high-energy tracks. All of them showcase a fusion of unique styles from both artists. For 9 minutes and 20 seconds, this EP showcases a powerful level of production, making it a must-listen for house fans of all types.

‘Freak,’ ‘Run,’ and ‘Take It’

The title track, ‘Freak‘ featuring vocalist, Aya Anne, starts with a catchy vocal chop and a bass to build tension. The intro builds to an end with Aya Anne repeating “You know I am a freak, can you handle that?” dropping into the first drop. Then, lower tone vocals take over accompanying a trance-like bass synth that continues to drive the infectious chorus into listeners. After, ‘Freak’ plays through a breakdown introducing a new bass synth. The second drop, using the new bass as its lead with the support of both vocals plays through an incredible journey of Genesi & Meduza’s skill and sound design.

‘Run‘, using the same style vocal as ‘Freak’, takes the listener into more of a melodic territory, with smooth high-end synths layered over a bouncing bassline. The track’s intro and first drop act as a continuous build to the second drop giving it lots of suspense. A new synth comes into play in the 2nd drop and gives the track a very diverse-like quality. Lastly, the dancing continues till the end with a heavy breakdown and a transitioning drum groove.

Closing out the EP is ‘Take It‘, a track that combines the dark, hypnotic elements of GENESI’s style with the uplifting, memorable melodies of MEDUZA. Staying in the same space as ‘Freak’ and ‘Run’, ‘Take it’ has a catchy vocal guiding us to drop after drop. The bass synth, similar to the rest of the ‘Freaks’ EP, keeps an additive groove from start to finish. Overall, it’s a smooth and hypnotic track that will keep the energy flowing, offering a perfect balance for both artists.
