[EDMTunes] Fyre Festival 2 Shares Permit Documents to Prove Festival is Happening

Fyre Festival 2.0 has dropped a press release to convince us that it is actually happening. The extensive Instagram post states they have been working directly with the government of Playa del Carmen (PDC) and their officials since March 5th. If you have been following this story the last few months, you would know the Mexican government had no idea about this festival prior to March. So that March 5th date is quite big for Billy and the success of this festival.

The revived festival is set to take place from May 30 to June 2 on Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico. The press release also provides various dates for major milestones, including on March 28th, when the PDC government shared official support of the festival on their Instagram. The post also shares various emails and documents showing Artist confirmations/invitations, permit authorizations, deposits, and the press conference.

It is a level of transparency we have never seen from a festival. Billy McFarland is certainly pulling out all the tricks to prove Fyre Festival 2’s legitimacy. Citing new management of the company, McFarland insists that this time will be different. While no artists have been confirmed, he claims he expects to book A-list performers in the coming months. He plans to have artists across “electronic, hip-hop, pop, and rock.”

This year’s festival will be capped at 2,000 attendees. Tickets can be found here with some insane packages ranging from $1,400 to $1.1 million.
