Today, UK rising star Tommy Phillips reimagines Deadmau5 & Kaskade’s legacy song ‘I Remember‘ with minimal/ deep tech influences. It’s the classic track you know and love with a 2025 update. We see its fitting release out on mau5trap. He is known for blending early Chicago house with breakbeat energy, catchy vocal hooks, and a strong club-focused groove. So, his remix garners much praise and attention.
Firstly, ‘I Remember’ is the beloved, classic EDM track by deadmau5 and Kaskade. We owe its ability to evoke strong feelings of nostalgia and emotion to its intricate layers of synths and smooth integration of vocals. Now, Tommy Phillips comes in with his new perspective on the song. The breakbeat energy in the background is driving and commanding. Additionally, his version evokes dancefloor craze, perfect for nightclubs around the world. Still keeping the atmospheric vocals, he blends the progressive with his signature club-focused energy.
Support on the track began in October 2024 from Max Dean at Solid Grooves in Ibiza’s DC 10 and LA’s Sound Nightclub. Heavyweights Cloonee and Sosa shortly followed suit, playing out the track at venues across the world. Top UK labels including Ministry of Sound, Sony (Capitol), A&R from Disclosure’s team Disorder, and more reached out to Tommy within the same week as the first play of the track. What’s more, unofficial Soundcloud rips by fans of the track have exploded over the past few months, amassing over 100k plays. So much fan support/callouts definitely got deadmau5’s attention, where mau5trap found the song a home and an official remix.

Hailing from Northampton UK, Phillips started producing music as a hobby when he was a student. He worked in construction before pursuing music full time. His dedication and hardwork for a decade finally launched him into the music industry. He sold out a South American tour. He even has an international tour ahead of him with music on well established labels, quickly cementing him as a name to remember. Garnering support from the likes of Jamie Jones, Max Dean, Sidney Charles, and Mau P, his work is also recognized by DJ Mag and BBC.
“I wanted to bring a fresh, club-focused energy while staying true to the nostalgia that made the original so special. This remix is my tribute to the record that shaped so many incredible moments in dance music history.” – Tommy Phillips
