Tim ‘Avicii’ Bergling’s former manager, Ash Pournouri, who managed him from 2008 to 2016, recently filed a lawsuit on Monday against Levan Tsikurishvili.
Tsikurishvili was the director of the documentary Avicii: True Stories in 2017, the year before Avicii’s death. Pournouri has expressed that this documentary portrays him negatively, hurting his reputation. He has endured false external narratives, but has chosen remain quite out of respect for Tim’s memory and family.
Several times, Pournouri has expressed his dissatisfaction with the film, implying he would have pressured Avicii too hard when he was clearly unwell. He wasn’t exactly pleased either with the newest documentary, TIM, which was released on December 31st, 2024. Then the movement of the lawsuit happened after Tsikurushvili posted on Instagram, “Trying to shift the blame to a film instead of handling the situation correctly is both unreasonable and irresponsible.”
On his social media pages, Pournouri says, “Enough is enough.”
“A lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth puts on its shoes.”
Enough is enough. In a recent interview focusing on my current business ventures and what I have focused all my energy on building back up, I confirmed that the past few years have been hell for me and my family. I have endured a false external narrative which, out of respect for Tim’s memory and family, I have actively chosen not to engage in. That courtesy has not been extended to me. Lies and false accusations by certain individuals continue with the aim of causing me harm and to profit from a tragedy. Consequently, I have been left with no other choice but to file lawsuits with the main objective for the lies to stop and the facts to be known, once and for all. I will not make any further comments regarding this matter and will put my trust in the legal proceedings.“
