Miami’s Ultra Music Festival celebrated its monumental 25th anniversary with a spectacle that will be etched into EDM history. In a night brimming with iconic sets and surprise appearances, the festival delivered a truly unforgettable moment: the first-ever live performance of ‘Titanium‘ by AFROJACK, David Guetta, and Sia.
The 2011 anthem, a cornerstone of both pop and electronic music, has amassed over 4 billion streams and cemented its place as a timeless classic. Yet, despite its enduring popularity, the trio had never graced a stage together to perform the track – until now.
As the sun dipped below the Miami skyline, Ultra’s Main Stage became the hub of the festival. AFROJACK, delivering a high-octane set, masterfully built anticipation, subtly hinting at the impending surprise by dropping David Guetta’s ‘Sexy Bitch.’ The crowd, already buzzing with energy, erupted as Guetta joined AFROJACK on stage.
Guetta, reminiscing on their shared history, affectionately referred to AFROJACK as his “little brother” and shared a personal anecdote about AFROJACK’s crucial role in overcoming a creative hurdle during the production of ‘Titanium.’ This heartfelt introduction set the stage for the night’s true highlight.
A few moments later, Sia emerged, adorned in custom Dolce & Gabbana and her signature wig. Her presence alone sent shockwaves through the audience. This marked her historic debut at an electronic music festival – a testament to Ultra’s unparalleled ability to orchestrate once-in-a-lifetime moments. As Sia’s powerful vocals filled the Miami night, the emotional crescendos of ‘Titanium’ resonated with the sold-out crowd and millions watching via Ultra’s #ULTRALIVE broadcast on UMF TV.
