For Don Diablo, artistic reinvention isn’t just a metaphor—it's a command. With CONTROL ALT DΞLΞTΞ, his new drum & bass alias, the Dutch producer isn’t merely refreshing his sound, but executing a full-system reboot.

Hitting pause on his characteristically euphoric brand of dance-pop, Diablo is instead ushering in a surge of shadowy breakbeats and rugged basslines that could power a cyberpunk rave. His alias' debut single, a high-octane rework of Michael Sembello’s 1983 anthem "Maniac," hijacks its neon soul and drags it into a hyperkinetic future.

For Diablo, "Maniac" was a song he recalls from childhood. The track’s unrelenting rhythm and soaring melodies have now been reanimated with a double-dose of driving synths fit for the dancefloors of the future.

"With my new alias CONTROL ALT DΞLΞTΞ I am exploring a more bass music-focused side of myself as a producer," Diablo said in a press release shared with EDM.com. "I have been in the studio nonstop these last few years, and this creative switch-up has given me so many new insights and ideas. I have been making bass music most of my life, but at the start of 2025, the timing feels perfect to launch this new project."
