Imagine this: it’s 6:15pm on a Friday. You’ve just clocked out of work and you’re ready to let loose. The pulsing beats of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” echo off the walls, the rhythm seeping into your veins. This is Fete Music Hall in Providence, Rhode Island. But it’s not your typical nightclub. The party here ends just as others are beginning. Welcome to the Earlybirds Club, where women come to dance their cares away before 10pm.
Designed by two Generation X creatives from Chicago, Earlybirds Club is a roving dance party that caters to those women who have commitments the next morning, whether it’s a career, motherhood, or both. But that doesn’t mean they don’t need to unwind and let loose. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.
Take Kate Campo, a 45-year-old mother of two and sales rep for a pharmaceutical company. She arrived in athleisure clothes, ready to dance the night – or rather, the early evening – away. It’s a club for women like Campo, those who want the exhilaration and joy that comes from a night out without having to sacrifice their morning routines.
Creating the Perfect Atmosphere

There is something beautifully paradoxical about the Earlybirds Club. Flashing lights illuminate the dance floor, and the music is loud enough to make your heart throb, yet the atmosphere is far from overwhelming. It’s a place of camaraderie and shared experiences. The DJ spins an eclectic mix of tunes, from 80s classics to the latest hits, creating a soundtrack that transcends generations.
The idea was to create an environment that harks back to the carefree days of youth, but with a grown-up twist. It’s a space where women can feel free to express themselves, and the earlier hours mean that there is still time to grab that much-needed beauty sleep or prepare for the next day’s responsibilities after all the fun.
For those who are used to traditional nightlife, the Earlybirds Club may appear to be a divergence from the norm, but it is quickly gaining popularity. Its success is a testament to the fact that women, no matter their age or lifestyle, crave a place where they can let their hair down and dance the night away. The only difference is that for these women, ‘night’ wraps up by 10pm.
