In February 2011, Nadia Ali together with Starkillers and Alex Kenji released ‘Pressure,’ a house record that attracted modest attention from the electronic dance music scene.

Two months later, Alesso published his take on ‘Pressure,’ a track that took the progressive house genre to the next level.

If the original was made to be played in venues such as nightclubs from Ibiza, Alesso’s version was made to drive crowds crazy at the biggest festivals in the world.

Its build-up and euphoria captivated listeners quickly, premiering the song at the #1 spot on The Hype Machine and making it one of the most played records of the year.

‘Pressure’ was Alesso’s first hit, launching him in the mainstream environment of the industry. What happened after this is all history.

Alesso went on to produce probably the most iconic track in the EDM hall of fame, with Sebastian Ingrosso, giving birth to the instrumental version of ‘Calling,’ which released in August 2011.

The song received a vocal version in 2012, when Ryan Tedder sang the famous ‘Lose My Mind’ lyrics.

In the meantime, ‘Pressure’ continued to make waves all over the world, making its way as well into the EDM hall of fame. To this date, it remains a staple in Alesso’s sets and pleases crowds at the greatest stages of famous festivals.

Just around two months ago, the DJ played ‘Pressure’ at the 25th edition of Ultra Music Festival, inviting Nadia Ali to sing the record live at Bayfront Park.

However, one of the more iconic moments of the song getting played is from Tomorrowland 2012, when the Swedish artist made his debut on the festival’s mainstage and got to play the remix live himself.

In 2025, the song stays fresh as ever, with Alesso integrating it in his sets through different mashups or even just the original remix.
