When you think of Nicky Romero, you probably think of festival tunes, melodic progressive sounds. But, Nicky’s latest release is straight out of left field, but that’s what makes it so, so good. Teaming up with Spanish producer Low Blow, they just dropped their two-track See You On the Dancefloor EP. Combining groovy house beats with some disco flourishes, See You on the Dancefloor will have you dancing in a way you never have to Nicky Romero.
The title track really sets the tone; that vocal sample, the drum buildup, leading to the hi-hats and disco synths just gets you up out of your chair. Nicky’s dropped this one in his live sets, so this one is a pleasant surprise for fans. The second track, “Higher” is more a blend of tech-house and disco. It’s got a consistent groove, before the volume lowers and you get that tech-house build into a groovy drop, complete with horn synths.
