  • Wavedash Are Asking Fans to Cover Their Smartphone Cameras During Upcoming Tour

Known for their innovation,Β WavedashΒ want to capture the special feelings found in spontaneous moments on tour.

Instead of heavily preparing a live show to showcase their brand-new mixtape Tempo, the trio is instead branding their upcoming tour as a series of parties. They want the experience to be meaningful and personal, something that pre-planned sets simply can't capture in the same way as reading a crowd can.Β

The format of Wavedash's sets will change nightly, according to the group. With no support announced, they'll perform alongside friends at a number of the events and play open-to-close at others.

Perhaps most importantly, they want each show to remain a surprise. To help facilitate that approach, they're asking fans to cover their smartphone cameras with stickers blazoning the phrase, "Social media? No thanks."

"lately we’ve felt like phones get in the way of having fun, it’s dance music after all and we want to dance with you!!! Wavedash wrote in an Instagram post. "we hope you’ll give it a shotβ€” dance, sing, meet somebody new! and at the end of the day, if you don’t want to, you don’t have to (but we feel like this is the right step for this tour)."

The group recently released Tempo, a stunning mixtape featuring 12 tracks including collaborations with Flux Pavilion, Anamanaguchi and Madeon and Toro y Moi. You can listen to the full release below and find it on streaming platforms here.
