This Skrillex collab with Missy Elliott & Mr. Oizo could be even bigger than “Rumble”

This past weekend saw the release of Skrillex’s latest single, “Way Back” with PinkPantheress and Trippie Redd, but not before he, Fred again.., and Four Tet descended upon Electric Ballroom in London four a nearly 4-hour set showing off new material and of course their latest single “Rumble,” for which Flowdan of course made an appearance.

Plenty of new music was showcased at the event, as well, not least of all this insane collaboration between Skrillex, Missy Elliott, and Mr. Oizo. If the “This the kinda beat that go…” sample is familiar to you, you might remember it from “Boy Oh Boy” by Diplo and GTA, released in 2013. Even that, however, was a sample of Missy Elliott’s iconic song “Work It” from 2002.

There might be a bit of irony to be found in the fact that the last big sample of the song in EDM was by Diplo, who once worked with Skrillex in Jack Ü, and now Skrillex himself is getting the real deal to revive the sample in his own song. But it’s probably nothing but coincidence as the song is really that big, the producers’ past work probably never came into the equation. (Missy also remixed the Jack Ü hit “Take Ü There.”)

Based on how much this particular single is being, for lack of a better word, singled out from the London set, this one could be the next that drops from Skrill’s big bag of demos. We’ll have to wait and see, but you can hear it dropped live below.
