Otherworldly Bass Manifests in CANVAS' New Single, "Unknown Number": Listen

Diving headfirst into the exploratory realms of left-field bass music, CANVAS has dropped a new single, "Unknown Number."

The track throbs with both wonky and melodic sounds, marrying deep bass with hypnotic vocals to induce goosebumps. Painting an emotionally charged soundscape, CANVAS, who's gearing up for a landmark festival set at Nashville's Deep Tropics this summer, effortlessly weaves both dark and light elements into "Unknown Number." 

The psychedelic song kicks off with a phone's eerie dial tone before a soft, enticing vocal refrain melts into an all-encompassing bassline. Meanwhile, CANVAS' production brims with emotion and depth.

"'Unknown Number' is about that inner call that can’t be ignored," she said in a press release. "The call that is unique to you, ringing indefinitely and growing in persistence until answered. It’s timeless. For me, that call has always been to create music. To create sonically-driven experiences that express the visceral nature of the human condition."

With previous releases on Deep, Dark & Dangerous and CloZee's OdyZey, among other labels, the Zimbabwean producer has a bright future in bass music. Out now, "Unknown Number" is a testament to that unrelenting vision.
