  • Revamped live-industry-first initiative returns for 2024 with six acts revealed for year-long development programme
  • Six ReBalance artists to receive studio time, mentoring, educational days and a guaranteed slot at a Festival Republic event

In 2024, Festival Republic reintroduces ReBalance, a pioneering initiative in the U.K. empowering women and gender-expansive artists on stage and in the studio. Six emerging acts have been revealed for the redesigned program.

ReBalance offers a proactive development program aimed at tackling challenges in the music industry pipeline, providing valuable support to up-and-coming talent. Participants will benefit from five days of studio time to work on their projects, individualized mentorship, educational sessions with industry experts in London and Manchester, and a showcase at the year’s end. Additionally, each artist will secure a slot at a Festival Republic event in 2025.

Selected by a panel of industry experts, artists Mary O’Donnell, Sprout, Bebeluna, samxemma, cruush, and Red Ivory will collaborate with carefully chosen producers and studios for their projects, receiving invaluable mentoring from top industry professionals. Through practical education sessions, they will access the latest industry insights and hands-on experience. All recording sessions will involve women or gender-expansive professionals to create an inclusive environment where artists can thrive while also offering production credits. Festival Republic’s Managing Director Melvin Benn announced the relaunch of ReBalance, aiming to support emerging artists by providing tools, connections, and a commitment to booking them at one of their events.
