Her journey, however, took a devastating turn when she suffered a pulmonary embolism, a severe condition in which blood clots block the arteries in the lungs. The tragic news comes just six years after Avicii's death by suicide.

The music world, still healing from the loss of Avicii, now mourns another connected soul gone too soon. After his death in April 2018, Goldberg shared a number of touching tributes to the legendary DJ, reflecting on the bond they shared. She leaves behind a legacy intertwined with courage, struggle and the raw honesty of her personal health battles.

Goldberg is survived by her parents, Julie and Sam, and brother, Aaron.
